An old woman finds a large peach floating down a river with a boy inside. She names the boy Momotaro and raises him. When demons start terrorizing the village, kidnapping the princess and stealing treasure, Momotaro decides to defeat the demons. He recruits a monkey, pheasant, and dog to join his journey. Momotaro and his animal friends successfully defeat the demons. He then marries the princess and they live happily ever after.
