This document presents a model for cell motion using chained spherical grains. It predicts that a one-grain cell will not move, a two-grain cell will oscillate, and a three-grain cell will move in one direction. The model was tested by simulating cells with different numbers of grains under varying parameters. The results supported the predictions, with the two-grain cell oscillating and three-grain cell moving linearly. More complex models with additional grains or non-linear relationships remain to be investigated.
