11 Presentation and evaluation of FAIRTRADE lessonHolasová Alena
The document summarizes a lesson on Fairtrade taught by Czech student "teachers" to international students. The lesson included presentations on Fairtrade principles and certification, the impact of Fairtrade on farmers' living conditions, a tasting of Fairtrade products, and having students make posters about Fairtrade. Surveys were given before and after to assess the lesson's impact. Students found teaching the lesson and learning about Fairtrade's benefits to be inspiring experiences.
Fair trade is an international organization and social movement that aims to help small producers in developing countries improve their lives and fight poverty through more just trading partnerships between producers and consumers. It supports small farmers and workers through better prices, decent working conditions, and sustainable farming practices. Fair trade also aims to promote ethical consumer choices to create a fairer global economic system and trading rules. One issue it addresses is child labor in cocoa plantations in West Africa, where hundreds of children work in terrible conditions as slaves, unable to attend school or return to their families, having never tasted chocolate themselves.
Fairtrade aims to provide better prices, decent working conditions, local sustainability, and fair terms of trade for farmers and workers in developing countries through certification of over 3,000 food and clothing products. The Fairtrade system guarantees fair pay for farmers and workers in the third world and contributes to making the world a fairer place by ensuring those who produce goods can earn enough to live on and improve their lives. Consumers can support Fairtrade by looking for the FAIRTRADE sign when shopping.

The document summarizes how the Fairtrade system works to provide better prices and social support for farmers in developing countries. Key points:
- The Fairtrade mark guarantees higher minimum prices and social premiums that fund community projects like schools and healthcare.
- Fairtrade sets economic, social and environmental standards for farmers to meet regarding wages, child labor, and sustainable practices.
- However, the portion of global agricultural products sold with the Fairtrade label remains low for many crops due to issues like low demand and local market competition.
- Fairtrade supports farmers facing challenges like climate change and helps communities prepare for natural disasters through established cooperative structures.
This document provides an introduction to fair trade and outlines the benefits it provides for small farmers. Fair trade aims to create a more equitable trading system through cooperatives, pre-harvest credit, long-term buying relationships, and paying above market minimum prices. It discusses the founders of fair trade and Equal Exchange, the first US fair trade coffee company. Equal Exchange uses a cooperative business model and in 2008 paid $1 million above market price and $2 million in pre-shipment financing to coffee cooperatives.

Fairtrade is a non-profit organization that offers better trading conditions for marginalized producers and workers, especially in developing countries in the South. Their goals are to raise awareness, campaign for changes in international trade rules, and ensure fair payment and working conditions. Fairtrade certification guarantees consumers that products meet social and environmental standards that promote sustainable development. Benefits of Fairtrade include fair wages for workers, environmental sustainability, and community development programs funded by a Fairtrade premium.
Fairtrade is an alternative trading system that aims to provide better trading conditions to marginalized small producers and workers. It does this through setting social, economic and environmental standards along with ensuring minimum prices and premiums for certified products. Fairtrade has grown significantly in recent decades and now over 1.5 million farmers and workers in 58 countries are part of Fairtrade certified organizations. However, certification fees can still be prohibitive for some small producer groups.
This document provides an outline of fair trade, including how to recognize fair trade products, the main principles of fair trade, common fair trade products and their regions of production, and stores where fair trade products can be found. The key principles of fair trade are ensuring fair prices for producers, prohibiting child labor, providing decent working conditions, supporting community development, and promoting environmental sustainability. Common fair trade products include coffee, cocoa, chocolate, pineapples, bananas, mangoes, juice, wine, tea, clothes, soaps and toys from countries in Central and South America, Africa, and India.
This document provides information and activities to educate students about fair trade and promote its adoption. It includes stories about farmers and chocolate producers, opportunities to sample and discuss fair trade chocolate, role playing activities from the perspectives of farmers and producers, information about fair trade banana farmers, and a challenge to create a rap or video advocating for fair trade. The overall goal is to help students understand the benefits of fair trade for producers and encourage them to support fair trade products and businesses.
Fair Trade is a social movement and market approach that aims to help producers in developing countries earn a fair living wage for their work. It supports small farmers and workers by establishing minimum prices for goods like cocoa, coffee, tea, fresh fruit and handicrafts. This allows farmers to invest profits back into their communities by building schools, clinics, and infrastructure. The document discusses how the Fair Trade system works, using the example of cocoa farmers in Ghana who receive stable prices and social premiums to improve their villages. It emphasizes the importance of Fair Trade in empowering small farmers and giving them fair wages for their labor.
The Brussels Development Briefing no. 44 on “Promoting responsible and sustainable sourcing through Fair Trade” took place on 22 June 2016 from 9:00 to 13:00, at the ACP Secretariat in Brussels, Belgium.
This Briefings was co-organised by CTA, the European Commission / DEVCO, the ACP Secretariat, CONCORD and the Fair Trade Advocacy Office.
Fairtrade is an organization that aims to address unfairness in global trade by ensuring farmers and workers receive fair wages and safe working conditions. Typically, farmers earn only a small fraction of the price paid for products while the rest is distributed among other entities in the supply chain. Fairtrade guarantees farmers a fair minimum price for their crops, long-term trading partnerships, and support for community development projects. This helps provide a more reliable income and improves lives, as farmers report being able to afford basic necessities and regain their dignity through Fairtrade.
Fair-trade is a social movement and market approach that aims to help producers in developing countries get a fair price for their products by empowering them. It covers various agricultural products including coffee, cocoa, sugar, tea, bananas, honey, cotton, wine, fresh fruit and flowers. For cocoa, farmers harvest the pods, extract the beans, and ferment and dry them before shipping to chocolate producers. Buying fair-trade products provides higher incomes for farmers, allowing them to better support their families with food, education, and improved living standards. It positively impacts many lives in developing nations.

The schedule
Week 1

καθημερινά – απίστευτο, έτσι;

euskera, eskuara και üskara.
