Topic: Ukraine.
Цілі: удосконалювати навички усного мовлення й аудіювання з опорою на
лексико-граматичні структури; удосконалювати навички монологічного
висловлювання, читання; розвивати мовленнєву реакцію учнів; виховувати
любов до своєї країни.
Materials: textbooks, pictures of beautiful places, cards, the presentation, the
computer and the projector.

Introducing the topic

1. Vocabulary practice.
1) Revision of the words, using the presentation. (the National flag, the
national coat of arms, the Ukrainian anthem, the Black sea, the sea of
Azov, the Carpathian mountains, the Crimean mountains, the north, the
south, the east, the west.)
2) Fill in the gaps, using the words:

Students are given a chart about Ukraine to complete and make up a story and
present it to the class.

Rearrange the sentences to make up the text.
The Black Sea washes the country in the south and the Sea of Azov washes it in
the southeast.
The most important rivers are the Dnipro, the Dniester, the Danube and the
Desna.
The biggest lake in Ukraine is Lake Yalpuh and the deepest one is Lake Svityaz.
There are the Carpathian Mountains with the highest peak Hoverla in the west
of the country.
Ukraine is situated in the southeastern part of Europe.
The geographical centre of Europe is situated in the small town of Rakhiv, in
Zakarpattia.
