Textron reported higher revenues and earnings in Q2 2014 compared to Q2 2013. Revenues increased 23.9% to $3.5 billion due to growth across manufacturing segments, though this was partially offset by a 12.9% revenue decline in the finance segment. Earnings per share from continuing operations increased 27.5% to $0.51. While sales grew significantly year-over-year, much of this growth came from acquisitions, and core sales increased just 7% excluding currency effects and acquisitions.
