Instead of adding です we add だ
E.g 先生です = 先生だ

6. Putting it all together
Because I am a student, I study various
subjects
せいとだから、いろいろなかもくをべんきょうしています。
As I am 17, I drive ( うんてんする )
十七才だから、うんてんします。
7. な - remember to make the plain form of
な adjectives you simply do the same
as nouns, change the です to だ E.g.
しずかです しずかだ
い - to make the plain form take off the
です
E.g. おいしいです おいしい

As maths is interesting, I like it
すうがくはおもしろいから、好きです。
As Helen likes children, she is a primary
school teacher
ヘレンさんは子どもが好きだから、小学校の先生です
9. Present/future - Group 1: い う
Group 2: add る to stem
E.g. ねつがあるから、おいしゃさんに行きます。
わ食を食べているから、おはしをつかっています。
10. Past plain
Change て to た
Change で to だ
E.g.
きょ年、そつぎょうしたから、今年、大学にはいります。
ゆうべ、あまい物をたくさん食べたから、けさ、おなかがいたいです。
11. Negative present
Group 1 い あ + ない
Group 2 add ない to stem
E.g.
あさごはんを食べないから、いつも、十時にみかんを食べます。
かんじのれんしゅうをぜんぜんしないから、むずかしいとおもいます。
( おもいます = to think)
