Manon Legendre is an undergraduate student studying Soil and Water Resource Management at McGill University. She volunteers with Let's Talk Science Outreach to spark children and teens' interest in STEM fields through hands-on activities outside the classroom. Through science fair projects in high school, Manon discovered her passion for watersheds. As a volunteer, she has shared her love of electrostatics with Girl Guides and designed a soil testing activity to use in schools. Her goal is to provide students opportunities to learn more about STEM fields outside the classroom.

Advanced Biofuels Feedstocks Conference
Carbon dioxide (CO2) is both a friend and foe as the greatest greenhouse gas by volume. However, downstream products that utilize CO2 as a feedstock can make it less of a foe by converting it into useful materials like plastics, fuels, chemicals and building materials. Applying and converting CO2 into products like plastics is of great interest as it can replace 50% of the petroleum-based content in some plastics and represents an important carbon reduction scheme. Beyond direct utilization, CO2 applications in enhanced oil recovery, concrete curing, algae cultivation and other industrial processes also provide environmentally friendly uses and net greenhouse gas reductions.

Vancouver will be established as the headquarters for the CIS and will act as a hub to welcome global investment interests. The investors will be professionally educated and briefed in Vancouver in regards to the opportunities and advantages of doing business within British Columbia and Canada as a whole. The CIS will also be working with Brightenvantage, an international business consulting firm based in Vancouver, in partnership with the Saskatchewan government to facilitate surveys of investment opportunities within Regina and Saskatoon. Montreal, Quebec will also become a stop of the CIS as well.
