The document summarizes an upcoming workshop on tight gas reservoirs in the Middle East, to be held from October 30 to November 2, 2011 in Dubai. The workshop will address exploration and production aspects of tight gas, with a focus on integrating geology and engineering. It will include presentations, group discussions, and an optional field trip. Sponsorship opportunities are available for the workshop, including as a main sponsor, lunch sponsor, or sponsoring the reception or dinner. The workshop is organized by the European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers and the American Association of Petroleum Geologists.
The document discusses new technologies applied to develop tight hydrocarbon reservoirs in the Cambay Basin of India. Specifically, it details the application of horizontal drilling, multistage fracturing, and microseismic monitoring in a well in the Cambay Field. This well is expected to produce 300,000-500,000 m3/d of gas, compared to typical production of 30,000-50,000 m3/d from vertical wells. These new technologies could also be applied in other Indian basins containing tight reservoirs to help meet the country's growing energy demand.
The document provides information about the Society of Petroleum Engineers Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition (ATCE) that will take place from 27-29 October 2014 in Amsterdam, Netherlands. It summarizes that the ATCE is the flagship meeting of the SPE and will showcase new oil and gas technologies and practices. It also lists the technical sessions, training courses, and networking opportunities available to thousands of attendees from the oil and gas industry.

1. EAGE/AAPG MIDDLE EAST Tight gas reservoirs WORKSHOP:
An Integrated E&P Perspective
30 October – 2 November 2011
Dubai, UAE
Workshop Overview
Tight gas reservoirs of the Middle East have increasingly become targets for exploration assessments
during the last few years as they possess potential of substantial gas resources. This has necessitated an
E&P initiative for a series of workshops to address all aspects of the future of tight gas in the Middle East.
Two successful workshops were conducted in 2009 and 2010, and this workshop of 2011 will illuminate
the continuity of the success.
The 3rd workshop will address all E&P aspects of the tight gas reservoirs and, but will concentrate more on
the area of integration between G&G and engineering. A new addition to this year’s workshop is the
economics of tight gas resources in the Middle East. The workshop will include a mixture of presentations
and group discussions with ample time for interactions amongst the participants. With attendees from
North America, Europe, and East Asia, the workshop is expected to be a great opportunity for exchanging
experience and knowledge as well as for having fruitful discussions. The workshop is augmented with an
optional 3-day field trip to the Paleozoic outcrops of central Arabia to touch the tight gas reservoir systems
of Saudi Arabia.

In Dubai, the social programme will include; an Icebreaker Reception and Workshop Dinner.

richest horse race, the Dubai World Cup. It will be first opportunity the participants have to meet and mingle
