FTS Presentation for the Raffle Sheet Program at Schools mesushovan
Friends of Tribals Society, nee FTS, works relentlessly for the betterment of the tribal and the rural people in remote India. With its associates, FTS provides the tribal and the rural people with the basic education and healthcare for FREE through a unique social movement called Ekal Vidyalaya or OTS - One Teacher School.
To run the OTS, successfully, however FTS gets no financial support from any State Government or the Government of India. So, FTS seeks donations from Individuals, Corporates, Trusts, Banks, NRIs, and the like. But, now, FTS wants to involve urban schools as well, so students understand the value of social work from schooldays through a Raffle Sheet program patronising the OTS.
For that, FTS approached me to create a .ppt presentation for 'creating awareness' and for 'making urban schools interested in the Raffle Scheme'.
Hence, I created this presentation.
The IDEA behind this presentation is based on a simple thought: "Knowledge is Commonsense and Commonsense is Power."
THE Power, which remains unavailable to the tribal and the rural people more often than not because they lack Knowledge i.e. the basic education and healthcare.
Which is why, it's urban schools' social responsibility to help FTS bring the light of Knowledge to lives in the hinterland and in forests through the OTS.
Because, if that is done, then only 'social balance' could be possible in spite of all the discrimination and wealth inequality that literally has been plaguing India since ages notwithstanding the fairy tale of progress - as does its round across society.
*PS: Before imparting 'gyan' on how to make a presentation, slide-share will do better, if it takes care of original fonts during conversion. Otherwise, its technology makes a mockery of a good font, as it did in this FTS presentation.
The learning from Time should be taken on time, it is the guidance of veteran and learned men. It is literally true. The time of Corona has come, there has been an outcry in the whole world. The death toll has crossed two lakh, no one is sensing anything, the market of rumors is hot. Till now we used to hear, "as many things as number of mouths" now are hearing "thousands of things from every mouth". Even in times of crisis, number of people does not have sense of wisdom. Frivolous politics is continuing, the blame is on the culmination, the useless people are accusing the sincere, the sincere and responsible leaders are troubled by their responsibilities and worries, there is no one to encourage and support them, they are kind of isolated, days and nights of planning and decision are falling short.

the last 50 years of feminist activism in India has managed to challenge the 5,000 years of patriarchal order. the main achievements were the deconstruction of violence against women, questioning of male domination within the family, kinship, religion, media and the State, in addition to a series of legal reforms. understanding of privilege to reshape the world has been the distinct contribution of the feminist movement along with the focus on the marginalised.
the feminist space in India is distinctive and builds upon a diversity of women’s groups, political party networks, feminist and HIV/AIDS-related nGos, nonfunded feminist and queer groups and individuals, democratic rights groups, eco-feminists, non-feminists, research institutes and universities. Despite the broad experience, this space remains rather disunited.
Currently, there is a backlash to feminism, as major insights of women’s activism did not succeed in altering the fixed notions of gender roles and traditions. on the contrary, some of these have enjoyed a revival with marketisation and cultural traditionalism. there is a disconnect between theory and practice: study groups and human rights activists seem to work in silos, unlike in the 1970s when there was greater dialogue between the women’s movement and women’s studies.
the gendering of citizenship requires us to question and challenge the fact that citizenship, a supposedly public identity, is produced and mediated by the supposedly private heterosexual patriarchal family. the ‘personal’ has become ‘political’ as it is completely submerged in power relations. Like any other structure of power, patriarchy too has an outside, which is what makes possible the different kinds of protests that constantly undermine it.
Feminism today is the constant questioning of the world we perceive and the boundaries we encounter. the more we understand, the more we are able to build a narrative for change. there are innumerable new energies arising from different positions transforming the feminist field: new contestations of patriarchy, and new contestations of the normative feminism itself. It will be the interplay of fields that might change the system altogether.

Nature, with it’s scenic beauty in these
pictures says about how it’s wings are
spread across the lake.
Let us start with the man rowing the
boat, he is trying to pluck the fishes
from the lake and by doing that he
seeks pleasure. We can also see the
beautiful uprooted grass near the shore
of the lake which is grown properly.
The goats near the edge of the lake are
being hooked along by their master.
They are enjoying a walk near the
lake, few of them spread away and are
in search of food. Finally, they find
something eatable near a vehicle. A
lady kept some grass over there for the
goats and they are jumping onto it.
Sweet little creatures, these are birds,
a wonderful sight to us. Just look at
the way they are flying across the lake,
spreading their wings as if they want to
travel along with the blooming flowers.
There is a silence surrounding
this picture with emotions lying
underneath asking for freedom.

The Government makes changes to
the law by the Maharashtra Animal
Prevention Act, which banned the
slaughter of bull and bullocks as well.
Maharashtra government justified its
new beef ban law, before the Bombay
highcourtclaimingitwasa“reasonable
restriction”.Indeed it’s a controversial
issue. The state said that to protect
Maharashtra’s agrarian economy and
to prevent cruelty to animals the law
was brought into effect. Bombay high
court advised all parties not to make
this ban a religious issue.
In India where it has a rough estimate
of 176 million Muslims, banning beef
seemslikeanattackonthediversefood
culture of India as well as an attack
on religion. It is a sign of increasing
impingement of personal liberty
and democratic freedom. The whole
world eats beef, so there is nothing
wrong in eating it. Former Chairman
of The Press Council of India, Justice
Markandey Katju said “North Eastern
states of Nagaland, Mizoram,Tripura
where selling and eating beef is not
a crime”, he said that cow meat is
a source of cheap protein. People
who make a hue and cry against cow
slaughter are not at all bothered by the
suffering of tens of thousands of cows
which are not properly fed. Why these
cattle are left to fend for themselves
when they grow old and become
non-productive? Recent step by BJP
government to ban cow slaughter in
Maharashtra was politically motivated
one. Such bans are nowadays more for
political considerations than anything
else.

When Journalism
becomes an act of faith
Journalism is a field, which is wide
open with many avenues and
opportunities.Journalism will never
die as long as the world has news to
report and someone to report it to.
It’s an exciting and challenging career
because no day is the same as the next.
I’ve found a thirst of knowledge hidden
in me.Discoveries are round every
corner. What works, what doesn’t and
why; these questions are all around
in my mind from my childhood days.
When I was a kid, being a storyteller
was my dream career. In my school
days I’ve worked for my school
magazine also.A journalist should
have good communication skills as
well as they must have a keen interest
in people, facts and events around the
world. Most of the people put in a lot of
work to come out as the perfect person
they desire to be.
I believe working as a journalist is great
because it allows the opportunity to
explore the issues of how an industry,
economies and government agencies
works. A country like India has a lot
to be discussed politically as well as
socially. So, one need to look beyond
the glitz and glamour of being on
television or newspaper, as this career
seems like a look into the amount of
hard work, dedication, sincerity and
integrity.

SMILE OF THE DIMPLE GIRL
Dreamt of you last night,
And now awake at four.
Trying to write something for you,
But where to start is the confusion.
The moment I see you,
I love the way you smile at me.
Alike a crater on moon,
Your dimples show up the prettiest smile.
When you smile,
The dimples tempt me inside.
I crave to touch them at least once,
But the reality does not permit to.
I can make you smile,
Just to see your dimples.
Though it is an abnormality,
But it makes you ten times cuter.
I don’t know your every day schedule,
But I want you to smile everyday.
Because people with dimples,
Are made to make others smile.

Momma’s
Ring
It was that park where I used to play,
Which was from my house, just a stone’s throw away.
Every morning I would hop to that lil’ place,
Holding my mom’s finger with a smile on my face.
But only that day did I hear a loud noise there,
And turned around to see my mom who was not there.
She had returned to the park to fetch my hat,
That I had left there- where I sat.
Just a blasting sound and nothing to see,
Only clouds of smoke gathered behind me.
I ran back to search for my mother,
But saw only her ring and nothing further.
Nothing was left of her, but the ring and only the fingers,
With which she always used to nurse.
Like thousand others, her body got scattered here and
there,
And finally left me alone with nobody to care

I am somebody because
God made me no Junk
My Dad screams and my Mom scolds,
Does any meaning your life holds? ‘
This is how my day used to start,
As a lazy bear, 23 years have passed.
As the Sun’s job is to rise, the night’s to fall,
Clouds answer diligently to Nature’s call
Even the centipede has millions of tasks to see,
How could God miss someone as important as me?
There is surely a task I was assigned,
Now it’s entirely on me, where, how and what to find.
To twist my nerves and get a Master’s degree
Or to serve others as a messenger?
I may not impress you intellectually,
But there is a power that exists in me.
Where in, my reason to survive may lay
The power to spin gold out of hay.
As I mix the shades of life and then perceive
Building my future as a masterpiece.
You may call me a bear, or call me a skunk
But, I know I’m somebody because God made me no junk!

WHEN YOU
COME
The days were so dull,
Until your presence did the mull.
I was waiting, waiting and waiting.
The first glimpse of the face of your,
And all my words became lour.
Now the bloomy aroma was all around
And I couldn’t even make a sound.
Your foremost word with a beam
It could have softened even the seam.
Melodious sound was rough at that time,
I was so into it that I couldn’t see even a line.
And I seek for a touch and headed forward,
The touch was so intense just like a sword.
Everything becomes trivial suddenly,
So I wanted to let the time stop very quickly.
I know, time waits for none.
But let me know, when you come.
