Summer is in full swing as the hot, humid days of July and August arrive. Known as the "Dog Days of Summer", this period takes its name from the star Sirius, which is also known as the "Dog Star". Many cultures believe the heat of summer is increased by Sirius's presence in the sky.

Kilter were asked to present at the Dorset Healthy Communitues, Sustainable Places conference. We talked about our work, mainly focussing on Roots Replanted, and how our uniques style of devised and community responsive theatre can help build and encourage sustainable and healthy lives.

However, it's still important during this hot season to watch for signs of overheating in dogs and provide plenty of fresh, cool water as well as shade when outside.
Paradise islands financial aid
Paradise Islands sells high-tech equipment like hover screens and oil/coal they don't need in exchange for money. Visitors to their utopia don't need to use regular money and can spend or exchange it for utopia currency. Those wanting to help build can volunteer on construction islands while food comes from agricultural islands and livestock roaming free.

Libby's Scoliosis Story
Libby was diagnosed with scoliosis in late 2009 after experiencing shoulder pain. By early 2010, her curves had progressed to 62 degrees thoracic and 43 degrees lumbar, requiring surgery. After surgery, it was important for Libby's recovery that she get up within 18-22 hours, though as her mother it was difficult to watch her in pain without being able to help or comfort her. Libby's mother feels anger that alternative treatments were not explored and that they were unaware of scoliosis, which could have led to earlier diagnosis and intervention to possibly avoid major surgery. She is committed to raising awareness to prevent other children from experiencing the same situation due to a lack of knowledge.
