We were going to use this song because it is called the same as what we called our soap. It is also
sung by a character from ‘the only way is Essex’, which was where we got the idea for our soap from.
The lyrics fit well with our parody as it makes references to the way they look and what they wear.
It says that ‘you wanna look reem’ emphasising the fact they are all about their appearance, which is
something we shown in our trailer; with the girls all made up with hair extensions, fake eyelashes,
heels, big fur coats, dresses etc and the boys full of fake tan, dressed in blazers for in the day, all
branded clothing and constantly looking in anything mirror-like so they know they look their best at
all times. Another reference this song makes to appearances and the lifestyle they have is the ‘Louis’
on my feet makes me feet...’ this is referring to Louis Vuitton shoes. This is something that is a must-
have in Essex to compete with other girls, you must be wearing the best brand. This is why for our
poster we have used a Louis Vuitton background to represent the lifestyle again.
The reason why we didn’t use this song is because we found a different one that fitted better and
had a better beat to edit to. It was also too much of an obvious choice.

This is the song that we did use because it fit well with the editing and in one of the scenes this song
is on in the background and one of the characters is miming along with it, therefore we could edit it
so that it looked like he was singing it. The lyrics also fit in well with the soap as they are all about
people looking at them, their appearance and craving attention. They also compete as to who is
better looking, therefore the lyrics ‘I’m sexy and I know it’ show confidence and arrogance, which
these characters are.

‘American boy’ therefore it doesn’t fit in well with our soap which is set in the UK and none
of the male characters are American.
