2. Plastic debris makes up nearly
half of the archipelago’s
shoreline trash. And it’s coming
from anywhere and
everywhere…
3. The company Surf Rider Foundation has
really taken their time and efforts to try
and prevent this environmental issue and
to spread the word about it.
4. They raise awareness about the dangers
of plastic pollution. They also conduct
campaigns to help prevent trash
pollution in places that have beaches.
6. They have helped Hawaii many
times, but most recently they
held a campaign there was in
September 2016, helping Hawai
have cleaner ocean water at the
beaches.
7. They have helped because they love our
beaches and ocean just as much as we
do… They are passionate about this work.
8. The Surf Rider Foundation educates
locals and gets volunteers working to
help keep the beaches clean and plastic
pollution free. The big island of Hawaii
along with the Surf Rider Foundation, is
working to ban polystryene food
containers.

12. I suggest we come together as
communities in Hawaii and do a
monthly beach clean up.
13. Most people love and respect the
beautiful place they live in so..
Everyone in Hawaii’s communities
should be able to/want to donate
an amount of their time to help this
cause.
