This document summarizes and compares three popular social media platforms: Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat. Twitter is used to share short thoughts and ideas through tweets of 280 characters or less. Instagram allows users to share photos and videos with captions. Snapchat enables sending private photos and videos that expire after being viewed. Each platform has its own features for user interaction, such as likes, retweets, and stories.

2. Twitter
● Twitter is social media website/app that people use as a journal in most
cases. People can post “tweets” which are limited to 280 characters and 4
pictures or 1 video.
● Twitter is now becoming used more for news, sports, and politics.
● Unlike other social medias twitter is used more for thoughts and ideas and
less for pictures.
● On Twitter there are 3 options when interacting with a tweet; a like, a retweet,
and a share.
● Retweets will show that particular post to people who follow you, even if they
do not follow the person who posted the tweet.
● The best part of twitter is the cute animal posts and pages dedicated to dogs
(in my opinion).

3. Instagram
● Instagram, which is run by facebook another social media website, was
launched in october of 2010
● Instagrams sole purpose is sharing pictures and videos of life events with
short captions underneath, these pictures can be liked and commented on by
your followers
● Unlike Twitter in which retweets can show you posts from other users, you
must follow somebody in order to see their posts on Instagram.

4. Snapchat
● Snapchat, Which is also run by facebook, was launched in july of 2011.
● Snapchat is exclusively an app for smartphones in which users can
send private “snaps” which once opened will expire after a set period of
time.
● These snaps can be pictures or videos and can be sent to anyone who
you are mutual friends with in the app.
● In 2013 the story feature was added to the app, this allows users to post
a snap that every one of their friends can see for 24 hours.
