Benefits of a social media apprenticeship
Social Media and Digital marketing are key
functions within businesses today. A survey
of over 500 companies carried out by
eConsultancy and Experian in 2012, found
businesses were planning on expanding their
digital marketing presence and subsequent
departments, but felt the shortage of skilled
workers in this area was preventing them
from fully harnessing digital media.
This advanced apprenticeship will equip
the learner with the ability to understand,
utilise and develop the skills needed whilst
working in social media and digital
marketing for business purposes.
This programme will be delivered by
experienced social media practitioners
and support the understanding of what
social media is; how it can be utilised and
incorporated in the business environment.
It will provide learners with a firm foundation
in social media and the background and
expertise to apply for roles within the social
media and digital marketing arena.
The apprenticeship allows the learners
and employers to explore new ways of
communicating and networking within
the business at the same time as working
towards a qualification that is job related.
The qualification
This qualification looks at key elements of
social media and will develop and build upon
the organisation strategy to meet the needs of
your company. This apprenticeship will support
the learner to identify and use the main social
media sites, and build a social media presence
that is both effective and measurable.

Duration of the course
The Level 3 qualification will last
approximately 12–18 months and
apprentices will require a minimum of
3 hours a week to work towards their
assignments and theory based work.
