The document discusses how warmth and competence impact how people are perceived and influence others. It argues that demonstrating trustworthiness and warmth, in addition to competence, is important for persuading others and eliciting cooperation. While people often focus on displaying competence in the workplace, research shows warmth is more important for influencing others and is judged before competence. The best way to gain influence is to appropriately combine warmth and competence.

How to Influence Others
Presented by: Argu, Taylor,
Ahmd, and Joshua
1
Good Morning Everyone!
My name Taylor and these are my colleagues Ahmd, Argu, and Josh… and today we’ll be presenting on How to Influence Others.
To give you a background on how we chose this topic, we started to imagine life after college, work, and although we
go to college to learn the basics of business, business is more than just knowing how to set up an income statement,
how to calculate the weighted average cost of capital, or understanding the current economic and political state of
The global economy… we need to know the skills of how to conduct business… which boils down to influence… how
our thoughts, ideas, and opinions are going to impact the people around us... our customers, coworkers, bosses, and
investors in the future.
Learning Objectives
Enhance one’s ability to influence using emotion, charisma, and vulnerability
Become more confident with using logic, emotion, and cooperative appeals
2
The learning objectives of this workshop include:
Gain understanding of the differences between influence and manipulation
Enhance one’s ability to influence through connection using emotion, charisma, and vulnerability
Acknowledge positive influencers in your life and how they have affected you as a person
Follow the Cialdini technique of pre-suasion through a step-by-step process
Make a connection between emotional intelligence and influence
Become more confident with using logic, emotion, and cooperative appeals
Practice the five simple steps to win people over instantly
So let’s jump right in and get started with Influence vs. Manipulation...
Influence v. Manipulation
3
I want to pose a question to the class… in your own words, what differentiates
influence from manipulation?
Could I get two volunteers to share their thoughts?
People often use influence and manipulation interchangeably as at the end of the
day, both words basically mean getting someone to do something you want them
to do. However, these two words have different connotations.
In our interviews and online questionnaire, we posed the question of “what is one thing you would like to find out more about influencing others?”
We received numerous responses such as, “Is the result of influencing more of a positive or negative aspect?”, “Do
people know if I’m manipulating them or influencing them?”, “How to be a positive influencer”, and “Knowing the tools
and methods available in order to positively influence another.”
Which is why we’re training on positive influence today, and clarifying the difference between manipulation
and influence first.
How to Enhance your Ability to Influence: this is my part

- Socializing in a culturally diverse workplace can help build strong professional relationships, confidence, and success, but can also be challenging. Having differences connect employees and valuing each person's uniqueness can lead to improved ideas, processes, and strategic initiatives.
- Practical ways to socialize include sharing work updates, getting to know colleagues personally, avoiding debates on sensitive topics, maintaining eye contact during conversations, and joining different social groups at lunch. Building positive relationships through socializing can make employees feel more comfortable and influential at work.
Each month, COR strives to deepen one’s understanding of Gentle Teaching through the development of a monthly theme focusing on a particular aspect of a Culture of Gentleness.
The document discusses fundamentals of human relations and interpersonal skills. It defines human relations as interactions among people, including conflicts, cooperation, and group relationships. It then lists and explains important interpersonal skills like communication, listening, problem-solving, and decision-making. The document provides tips for improving interpersonal skills, such as listening actively, choosing words carefully, relaxing, clarifying, being positive, and reflecting on interactions. It emphasizes the importance of interpersonal skills for work and personal relationships.
This document discusses interpersonal relationships in young adolescents. It defines interpersonal relationships as strong bonds developed with family, friends, teachers, and colleagues. Good relationships are important for both mental and physical health. The document outlines different types of interpersonal relationships adolescents form, including with parents, peers, teachers, and future work colleagues. It stresses the importance of developing strong interpersonal skills during adolescence to lay the foundation for future career and personal relationships. Finally, it provides seven essential skills for building strong interpersonal relationships: relax optimistically, listen deeply, feel empathetically, respond carefully, synchronize cooperatively, act authentically, and acknowledge generously.
1. Assertiveness training was introduced in the 1970s as a way to improve communication effectiveness and interpersonal skills. It teaches behaviors like openly expressing emotions and standing up for one's rights while also being receptive to others.
2. True assertiveness is marked by both openness and receptiveness. It involves openly communicating one's perspective while also listening to others to find solutions, not dominate.
3. Being assertive facilitates effective communication by creating a climate of openness and trust where honest feedback is possible, allowing people to develop self-awareness and reach their potential. However, openness may not always be appropriate and some criticism of only focusing on it exists.
The document discusses the importance of interpersonal skills, specifically communication skills. It notes that effective communication requires clearly conveying intended messages while being aware of how the message may be received based on language used, delivery method, and potential distractions. Good listening skills and asking clarifying questions can also help ensure understanding. The document then discusses how relationships impact communication and introduces Eric Berne's framework that relationships are shaped by shifting ego states like parent, adult, and child modes that influence how people respond to each other. Developing awareness of one's own and others' states of mind can improve communication and relationships.
This document discusses the importance of communication skills and emotional intelligence. It covers several key topics:
1) Effective communication requires strong listening skills, being concise, and paying attention to body language. Developing confidence and vocabulary helps improve communication abilities.
2) Collaboration benefits from increased ideas and productivity in groups. Teams work best when members fill different roles and adhere to shared norms and standards. Synergy occurs when groups outperform individuals.
3) Emotional intelligence comprises self-awareness, self-regulation, empathy, motivation, and social skills. It allows for understanding and managing one's own emotions and relationships. People with high emotional intelligence typically experience greater success.

Example 1
One of the most interesting concepts and ideas about behaviors in organizations that I personally could relate to as a student is motivation. In my opinion, motivation is one of the main reasons I’m able to keep going when studying. Organizational Behavior explores this topic and looks at it in different perspectives where it makes it easier to comprehend and implement. Parijat & Bagga (2014) have mentioned in their motivation theory research article that motivation in private or public enterprises is mandatory. It was also mentioned that “Humans are basically psychological beings and need inspiration whether extrinsic or intrinsic for achieving organizational as well their personal objectives and goals.” (Parijat & Bagga, 2014, p.1). If you compare two pieces of work, one done by a motivated person and the other done by a non-motivated person, you could easily notice the differences between them, the motivated one being more put-together and presentable, the other looking less interesting and rushed.
Example 2
This essay is a reflection of my learning throughout the organizational behavior course. I will be focusing on the topic attitude and job satisfaction which will split into three sections. The first section aims to discuss the knowledge gained during the course, the second section will focus on the ideas and concepts of behaviors with organizations. In the last section, I will discuss the difficulties I have faced throughout the course.
Example 3
On the other hand, The ideas and concepts about behaviors with organizations have made me relate to my personal life. One of the positive learning outcomes is that when I had the experience to become a vendor in an event. I have faced many problems, one of them was being bound to encounter angry customers. My behavior toward this problem while the angry customer was talking, I was attentive listening and understanding their feelings and point of view, later I apologized and tried to find a solution. The negative concept that is related to my personal life is during this pandemic crisis I am restricted from the freedom that made me stuck in a very limited space and this resulted in my stress and became very nervous. Therefore, I acknowledge that stress and nervousness are behavior to my attitude. I have faced one difficulty throughout this course which was not knowing the differences between attitude and behavior. This difficulty turned into beneficial knowledge ...
This document outlines key concepts related to intrapersonal and interpersonal communication. It discusses self-concept, perception, expectations, and motivation as aspects of intrapersonal communication. Interpersonal communication is defined as communication between two or more people. The benefits of strong interpersonal relationships include trust, acceptance, support, having someone to listen and provide understanding. Good interpersonal skills can provide referrals, reduce stress, and increase happiness. The Johari window model is presented as a tool for understanding self-awareness and improving communication and relationships.
Research Goals and Research Questions-Qualitative or Quantitative-Give.docxhenry34567896
Research Goals and Research Questions:
Qualitative or Quantitative?
Given that you now know the philosophical differences in qualitative and qualitative research, you should now be able to distinguish between those types of research goals. See this list attached of research goals and research questions. 1) Match the research goal to the research question(s) and 2) identify them as either qualitative or quantitative (no mixed methods yet), and 3) explain WHY it is so.  Use the table below to cut/paste the goals and questions into and provide your answers. Look for specific key words to help you differentiate between qualitative and quantitative, and remember that the “why†answer is vital.
Research Goal
1. The goal of this study is to investigate whether leaders' well-being, in the form of positive affect and job stress, can be explained by leader-member exchange (LMX) quality at the group level of analysis.
2. What is the process of negotiating and reaching consensus within a particular social structure?
3. The purpose of this study is to explore how spousal carers of people with MS interpreted their lived experience with their partner, the way in they assigned meaning to their being in such a situation, and the skills and knowledge they have developed to live with their situation.
4. The purpose of this study was to investigate decision-making experiences and the social psychological processes family member surrogates use for health care decisions as they related to decision making with and for a terminally ill family member.
5. The purpose of this study is to examine the extent to which leaders' and teams' goals work together to affect a range of outcomes when their teams fail to regulate (i.e., when they focus exclusively on one particular type of goal). We explicitly focused on learning and performance goals because this distinction is perhaps the most obvious and salient type of goal tension in work organizations.
6. What role does friendship play in girls’ developing sense of self? Specifically, does girls’ friendship provide a form of resilience as they transition from childhood to adolescence?
7. This study will examine the roles of experiential opportunities, organization-initiated cross-cultural experiences (i.e., those found in leadership development programs) and non-work cross-cultural experiences.
8. The goal of this study is to analyze the conditions under which women are promoted to top leadership positions and exploring the challenges they face post-promotion.
Research Questions
1. What do caregivers define as successful day-to-day experience?
2. How do girls describe the development of their sense of self during transition from childhood to adolescence?
3. Does group-level analysis of leader-member exchange explain leaders’ psychological states of leader well-being, in the form of positive affect and job stress?
4. After promotion, do female leaders experience a lack of support and/or challenges to their le.

Preface
Knowing how to get along with others, resolve workplace conflict, manage relationships,
communicate well, and make good decisions are all critical emotional intelligence skills students
need to succeed in career and in life. Our Human Relations book will address all of the critical topics
to obtain career success. This book isn’t an organizational behavior (OB) text, which is too theoretical
for many of our students’ needs. While this book will focus on some of the theories you might find in
an OB book, the focus is a direct benefit to students in their current and future jobs.
This book also isn’t a professional communications, business English, or professionalism book, as
the focus is much broader: it focuses on general career success and how to effectively maneuver in
the workplace.
The core concept in the book is emotional intelligence and how these skills carry over into career
success, such as through ethics, communication, diversity, teamwork, conflict, good decision making,
stress management, motivation, and leadership.
This book’s easy-to-understand language and tone is written to convey practical information in an
engaging way. Plenty of examples are included in each chapter so students understand the concepts
and how the concepts can benefit their career. This book will meet the needs of a course in the
business department or will be offered to professional technical students in any number of career
fields, such as automotive, dental hygiene, culinary, or technology. In addition, this book would be a
great addition to any school offering human relations course for teacher certification.
This book could be used in the following courses:
• Human relations
• Psychology
• Career-focused courses
• Professionalism
• Business communications
• Teacher/education certification

Po report 6 - A lot of bosses are accused of being poor communicator. what do...Syaff Hk
Caruso, a boss, is accused of being a poor communicator by his employees. Specifically, he does not listen to his employees' input, focuses only on business metrics without explaining directions clearly, and has a hierarchical communication style where employees must approach him rather than the other way around. This damages motivation and creates tensions.
To improve, the document recommends that Caruso learn communication fundamentals like listening, choosing words carefully, understanding why communication fails, and being positive. It also suggests developing interpersonal skills like making personal connections, maintaining a network, compromising, and showing interest in others. Regular self-review would help Caruso recognize effective and ineffective communications to continuously enhance his skills.

How to Fix the Import Error in the Odoo 17Celine George
An import error occurs when a program fails to import a module or library, disrupting its execution. In languages like Python, this issue arises when the specified module cannot be found or accessed, hindering the program's functionality. LAND USE LAND COVER AND NDVI OF MIRZAPUR DISTRICT, UPRAHUL
This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in
these patterns indicate shifts in economic and social conditions. Monitoring such changes with the
help of Advanced technologies like Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems is
crucial for coordinated efforts across different administrative levels. Advanced technologies like

Answer all questions
Question. 1. “Rapport feels good, generating the harmonious
glow of being simpatico, a sense of friendliness where each person
feels other’s warmth, understanding, and genuineness”. What is
your recipe for developing a rapport with your colleagues? Explain
with examples.
Answer:
Rapport
Rapport formsthe basisof meaningful, closeandharmoniousrelationshipsbetween people. It's the
sense of connection that you get when you meet someone you like and trust, and whose point of
view you understand. It's the bond that forms when you discover that you share one another's
values and priorities in life.
Way of developing rapport with your colleagues:
Question. 2. The emotional indifference and remoteness of an “I-It”
relationship stands in direct contrast to the attuned “I-You”
relationship. In the organizational/professional context, cite
situations wherein you think “I-It” and “I-You” relationships would
individually be fruitful. What is the rationale for the utility of the
relevant type of relationship in each of these situations?
Answer: Situations in which “I-It” and “I-You” relationship is useful:
“I-It”relationship

persons. Most of our relationships start at the "I-it" level, and develop from there. Closer
relationships must move to the second level, "I-You."
Question. 3. “Children deprived of vital human contact fail to
make crucial distinctions among emotions; their sense of what
others feel remains fuzzy”. For children who are unable to
overcome this inability to make crucial distinctions among
emotions as they grow up, what effect will it have on their work life
as adults? Discuss.
Answer: In modern age where there is no time for others, in that time children also hardly contact

don’t get much chance to interact with many people and so they fail to understand emotions of
other because they are just restricted to few people of their family. They fail to understand other
people and their problems, emotions and feelings.
Question. 4. “In rigid hierarchies bosses tend to be
authoritarian: they express more freely their contempt for their
subordinates, who in turn naturally feel a messy mix of hostility,
fear, and insecurity.” Put yourself in the shoes of the subordinate
and explain how you would deal with your boss under such
circumstances.
Answer: To deal with an authoritarian boss:
An authoritarianbosscan make life miserable for employees and can be costly for companies. The
results of working with an authoritative boss are disengaged employees and, ultimately, a loss of

ultimately help you.
