3. EVERGREEN
FORESTS
Tropical evergreen forests are
dense and multi-layered, and
they are home to a diverse range
of plants and animals
These forests can be found in
areas that receive a lot of rain .It
is found on the western slopes
of the Western Ghats, the islands
of Lakshadweep, Andaman and
Nicobar, Northeast India, and
some parts of the Tamil Nadu
coast.
4. DECIDUOUS
FORESTS
Deciduous forests are found in
the eastern part of the country
such as northeastern states
along the foothills of the
Himalayas, Jharkhand,
West Orissa and Chhattisgarh
and on the eastern slopes of the
Western Ghats.
Forests that are dominated by
trees that lose their leaves in the
fall is called a deciduous
forest. Eg: aspen, cottonwood,
box elder, ash, mountain ash,
poplars, willows, fruit trees, etc.
5. THORN FORESTS
The tropical thorn forests in
India are found in the areas
of southwest Punjab, in Haryana,
Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya
Pradesh, and also in Uttar
Pradesh.
Thorn Forest is a type of desert
formation that has scrub-like
vegetation. These forests are
mostly tropical and subtropical.
They have trees and plants with
armed thorns and spines.
6. MANGROVE
FORESTS
Mangrove forests can be found
in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa,
Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu,
Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, and
West Bengal states of India.
Sundarbans is the largest
mangrove forest in the world.
Also, it is situated on the banks
of Ganges, Brahmaputra, and
Meghna Rivers in the Bay of
Bengal. The forest has been
enlisted in the UNESCO World
Heritage Sites and is the home to
the Bengal Tigers.
7. MONTANE
FORESTS
Montane Forest is ecosystem
found in mountains. It gets
affected by colder climate at
moderate elevations. In these
areas dense forest are common.
In Mountain Forest, rainfall and
temperate climate leads to
change in natural vegetation.
These forests can be found in
the higher hilly areas of Kerala
and Tamil Nadu, also in the
region of Eastern Himalayas to
the east.
