Snakes have emerged across the state of Adelaide due to rising temperatures in spring. Snakes are most likely to be found in rocky areas, thick vegetation, piles of materials and under buildings. To prevent encounters while working, walk carefully through vegetation and wear ankle boots and long pants. If you see a snake, stand still and allow it to move away on its own instead of confronting or killing it. All snakes are protected in South Australia unless attacking a person.
