How can Artificial Intelligence help me on the Battlefield?jcscholtes
April 26, 2019, I was asked to present how Artificial Intelligence can help the Battlefield at the officers of the 11th Airmobile Brigade (11e Luchtmobiele brigade in Dutch) of the Dutch forces . The potential benefit of Artificial Intelligence on the battlefield is a very interesting, but also intriguing topic! Here you can find my slides. I also have written a blog on this topic which contains several additional references and can be found as a LinkedIn Article and as blog on www.textmining.nu.
To support complex tasks in neurosurgery master-slave robotic systems with compact robotic forceps have been developed. Before these systems are inserted in the surgical room, it is necessary to ensure their robust and safe operation. Virtual Reality (VR) simulation may complement this development process by providing a software platform in where the robot control algorithms can be tested without damaging the expensive prototype. In recent years the increase in the computing power along with newer algorithms optimizations enables real time simulation with both visual and physical realism, allowing acquisition of kinematic data for surgical skills analysis, and synthetic data generation for training machine learning algorithms; ultimately interactive simulators provide a safe environment in where neurosurgeons can repeatedly practice without impacting the patient’s health. Despite state-of-the-art simulators, there is little work in simulation of robot-assisted microsurgery. In this talk we present the development of VR simulations for robotic neurosurgery focusing in the micro suturing task with haptic feedback, detailing the methods and current applications. This work was funded by ImPACT Program of Council for Science, Technology and Innovation, Cabinet Office, Government of Japan.

Minimally invasive liver surgery has recently acquired the surgical robot among the available weapons. In particular, the “Da Vinci” Robot currently represents the operative standard. Liver resections are now increasingly performed robotically. The increased experience has made these robotic procedures ever simpler and safer to perform. In this presentation, we review the basic steps for dealing with a robotic liver resection. The tools available to perform a robotic hepatectomy also occur. However, at the present time, the robotic surgical instruments completely studied and realized for their application on the liver are very few.

There is no impenetrable system - So, why we are still waiting to get breached?Nane Kratzke
This is some input for a panel discussion about "Security and Safety in Cloud-based Systems and Services" (9th International Conference on Cloud Computing, GRIDs, and Virtualization (CLOUD COMPUTING 2018) in Barcelona, Spain in February 2018).
Although it might be hard to accept. By principle, attackers can establish footholds in our systems whenever they want (zero-day exploits). Cloud application security engineering efforts focus to harden the "fortress walls". Therefore, cloud applications rely on these defensive walls but seldom attack intruders actively. There is the somehow the need for a more reactive component. A component that could be inspired by biological systems. Biological systems consider by design that defensive "walls" can be breached at several layers. So, biological systems provide an additional active defense system to attack potential successful intruders - an immune system. Although several experts find this approach "intriguing", there are follow-up questions arising. What is about exploits that adapt to bio-inspired systems? How to protect the immune system against direct attacks? Are cloud immune systems prone to phenomenons like fever (running hot) or auto-immune diseases (self-attacking)?
An AI Based ATM Intelligent Security System using Open CV and YOLOYogeshIJTSRD
Nowadays most of the surveillance cameras in ATM doesn’t record with detail for analysis of incidents. Due to this most of the ATM cases gets unsolved. In this paper a system to improve ATM security is proposed. The proposed system deals with the development of a application using Open CV, YOLO and AI for automation of video surveillance in ATM machines and detect any type of potential criminal activities that might be arising. Prem Krishna | Saheel Ahamed | Roshan Kartik "An AI Based ATM Intelligent Security System using Open CV and YOLO" Published in International Journal of Trend in Scientific Research and Development (ijtsrd), ISSN: 2456-6470, Volume-5 | Issue-4 , June 2021, URL: https://www.ijtsrd.compapers/ijtsrd41232.pdf Paper URL: https://www.ijtsrd.comengineering/computer-engineering/41232/an-ai-based-atm-intelligent-security-system-using-open-cv-and-yolo/prem-krishna
Humans have evolved to better survive and have evolved their invention. In today’s age, a
large number of robots are placed in many areas replacing manpower in severe or dangerous
workplaces. Moreover, the most important thing is to take care of this technology for developing
robots progresses. This paper proposes an autonomous moving system which automatically finds its
target from a scene, lock it and approach towards its target and hits through a shooting mechanism.
The main objective is to provide reliable, cost effective and accurate technique to destroy an unusual
threat in the environment using image processing.
