The Paychex | IHS Small Business Jobs Index indicates that summer hiring in 2014 surpassed previous years, with notable growth since the recovery from the 2009 recession. Hiring trends showed that less than half of new jobs came from seasonal industries, and positive growth rates occurred in several regions and states. Additionally, 54% of small business owners plan to hire in the next six months.
