3 Ta je odgovoril, da je tisti, s katerim naj bi bila Devica
zaročena, edina oseba od tistih, ki so bili zbrani, ki ni
prinesel svoje palice.
4 Jožef je bil torej izdan.
5 Kajti, ko je prinesel svojo palico in se je na njen vrh
nagnal golob, ki je prihajal iz nebes, so vsi jasno videli, da
se bo Devica zaročila z njim:
6 Ko so bile običajne slovesnosti zaroke končane, se je
vrnil v svoje mesto Betlehem, da bi uredil svojo hišo in
naredil potrebno za poroko.
7 Gospodova devica Marija pa se je skupaj s sedmimi
drugimi devicami iste starosti, ki so bile istočasno
odstavljene in jih je duhovnik določil, da jo spremljajo,
vrnila v hišo svojih staršev v Galileji.
POGLAVJE 7
1 V tem času, ko je prvič prišla v Galilejo, ji je bil od Boga
poslan angel Gabrijel, da bi ji oznanil spočetje našega
Odrešenika ter način in način, kako ga je spočela.
2 V skladu s tem je stopil vanjo in napolnil prostor, kjer je
bila, z osupljivo svetlobo in jo na nadvse vljuden način
pozdravil ter rekel:
3 Zdrava, Marija! Devica Gospodova najbolj sprejemljiva!
O Devica milosti polna! Gospod je s tabo, blagoslovljena si
nad vsemi ženskami, blagoslovljena si nad vsemi moškimi,
to. so bili doslej rojeni.
3. 4 Toda Devica, ki je že prej dobro poznala obraze angelov
in ji takšna svetloba z neba ni bila nič nenavadnega,
5 Ni bil niti prestrašen nad videnjem angela niti presenečen
nad veličino svetlobe, ampak so ga le vznemirile angelove
besede:
6 In začel razmišljati, kaj naj bi tako nenavaden pozdrav
pomenil, kaj je napovedoval ali kakšen konec bi imel.
7 Na to misel odgovori angel, božansko navdihnjen;
8 Ne boj se, Marija, kot da bi s tem pozdravom želel
karkoli, kar ni v skladu s tvojo čistostjo:
9 Našla si namreč milost pri Gospodu, ker si se odločila za
devištvo.
10 Dokler si torej devica, boš spočela brez greha in rodila
sina.
11 Velik bo, ker bo kraljeval od morja do morja in od rek
do konca zemlje.
12 In imenoval se bo Sin Najvišjega; kajti kdor se rodi v
nizkem stanju na zemlji, kraljuje v vzvišenem v nebesih.
13 In Gospod mu bo dal prestol njegovega očeta Davida in
kraljeval bo nad Jakobovo hišo za vekomaj in njegovemu
kraljestvu ne bo konca.
14 Kajti on je Kralj kraljev in Gospod gospodov in njegov
prestol je za vekomaj.
15 Na ta angelov govor Devica ni odgovorila, kot da bi bila
neverna, ampak je želela vedeti, kako to govori.
16 Rekla je: Kako je to mogoče? Ker glede na svojo
zaobljubo nisem nikoli poznala nobenega moškega, kako
naj rodim otroka brez dodatka moškega semena?
17 Na to je angel odgovoril in rekel: »Ne misli, Marija, da
boš spočela po običajnem načinu.
18 Kajti, ne da bi ležala z moškim, medtem ko boš devica,
boš spočela; medtem ko boš Devica rodila; in medtem ko
bo Devica dojila.
19 Kajti Sveti Duh bo prišel nadte in moč Najvišjega te bo
obsenčila, brez kakršnih koli vročin poželenja.
20 Torej, kar se bo rodilo iz tebe, bodi le sveto, bodi. ker je
samo spočet brez greha in ko se rodi, se imenuje Božji Sin.
21 Tedaj je Marija iztegnila roke in povzdignila oči proti
nebu ter rekla: Glej, Gospodova dekla! Naj se mi zgodi po
tvoji besedi.
POGLAVJE 8
1 Jožef je torej odšel iz Judeje v Galilejo z namenom, da se
poroči z Devico, ki mu je bila zaročena:
2 Minilo je namreč skoraj tri mesece, odkar je bila z njim
zaročena.
3 Končno se je očitno izkazalo, da je noseča, in tega pred
Jožefom ni bilo mogoče skriti:
4 Ker je šel k Devici svobodno, kot je bil eden zaročen, in
se z njo prijetno pogovarjal, je opazil, da je noseča.
5 In nato je začelo biti nelagodno in dvomiti, saj niso
vedeli, kaj bi bilo najbolje izbrati;
6 Ker je bil pravičen človek, je ni hotel razkrinkati, niti je
ne obrekovati s sumom, da je vlačuga, saj je bil pobožen
človek.
7 Na samem se je torej namenil prekiniti njun dogovor in
zasebno jo odstaviti.
8 Toda medtem ko je premišljeval o teh stvareh, se mu je
Gospodov angel prikazal v spanju in rekel Jožefu,
Davidovemu sinu, ne boj se;
9 Ne bodi pripravljen sumiti, da je Devica kriva
nečistovanja, ali misliti, da je karkoli narobe z njo, niti se
ne boj, da bi jo vzel za ženo;
10 Kajti to, kar je rojeno v njej in zdaj stiska vaš um, ni
delo človeka, ampak Svetega Duha.
11 Kajti ona izmed vseh žensk je tista edina Devica, ki bo
rodila Božjega Sina, in daj mu ime Jezus, to je Odrešenik;
kajti on bo rešil svoje ljudstvo njegovih grehov.
12 Nato se je Jožef po ukazu angela poročil z Devico in je
ni poznal, ampak jo je ohranil v čistosti.
13 In zdaj se je bližal deveti mesec od njenega spočetja, ko
je Jožef odpeljal svojo ženo in vse, kar je bilo potrebno, v
Betlehem, mesto, od koder je prišel.
14 In zgodilo se je, ko sta bila tam, so se izpolnili dnevi
njenega poroda.
15 In rodila je svojega prvorojenega sina, kot so učili sveti
evangelisti, našega Gospoda Jezusa Kristusa, ki z Očetom,
Sinom in Svetim Duhom živi in kraljuje na veke.
