However, the inherited track along with its track side railway infrastructure continued to impose restriction on Max/Min Moving Dimension (MMD) profile and has not allowed wider wagons despite Broad Gauge track. Later, electrification with its over head infrastructure further imposed restriction in development of taller wagons. Now for greenfield construction of new lines viz. Dedicated Freight Corridors, a good opportunity is available for
re-defining MMD profile for Indian Railways.
