Solar Magazine | Malaysia Solar Energy Profile: A Global Solar Manufacturing ...Solar Magazine
Malaysia Solar Energy Profile discusses the current states of different solar market segments in Malaysia, restrictions on participation, impacts of the net energy metering (NEM) scheme on solar projects deployments, etc.
Over the past 15 years, Australia’s renewable energy market has continued to attract massive interest from
Developers, Contractors, manufacturers, governments and local and international investors. This reflects global
energy trends driven by factors such as a push for diversification of energy sources and asset classes,
government incentives for clean energy technology developments and, importantly, the decreasing cost of
electricity from renewable energy sources.
The renewable energy industry in Australia is well-established and mature for some technologies (eg wind,
rooftop solar PV), developing in others (eg utility scale solar PV, solar thermal/CSP and hybrid solar) and at
commercialisation stage in others (eg geothermal, wave).
At this time of increasing market interest and development, it is relevant to consider key issues and market
trends in the construction, operation and regulatory aspects of projects, and critical bankability considerations
relating to each of these issues. While this paper focuses on issues that are of most interest to project Sponsors
and Lenders, many of these considerations are equally relevant to Contractors. This paper considers these
issues in the context of utility scale solar and wind projects in Australia.

This document contains a SWOT analysis of 10 MW solar power plant designing project and basic procedures to take before implementing a such power plant design project. Application structures are also included in the document.
The primary goals of this project were to address public safety concerns, mitigate the potential for structural flooding to homes along Kaywood Place and improve the hydraulic capacity of the storm drainage system. The project scope included the installation of 350 linear feet of 24-inch diameter and 30-inch diameter polypropylene pipe and the construction of an overland relief swale to divert excess flows during the heavier rain events, which potentially could overwhelm the storm sewer system.

Centauri Energy, LLC Names Scott Lane as
Lead Project Manager for Beltran Solar,
a 300-Megawatt Solar Project in California’s Central Valley
1,600-acre solar project among the largest in California; set to deliver power in 2016
Concord, Calif. (SEPTEMBER 14, 2015) – Centauri Energy, LLC has named Scott Lane as Lead
Project Manager for its utility-scale solar and wind projects. As part of his responsibilities, Lane will
support the development of Beltran Solar, the company’s 300-Megawatt solar project in Stanislaus
County, California.
The appointment comes as the company ramps up its Beltran Solar construction efforts. One of the
largest solar projects underway in California, Beltran Solar is on schedule to begin delivering power to
the BANC and WAPA grids in 2016.
“With Governor Jerry Brown’s executive order to achieve 50% renewable energy in California by
2030, and the passage of SB 350, there’s a tremendous need for Beltran Solar’s 300 Megawatts of
power,” said Jeff Irvine, CEO of Centauri Energy. “Scott Lane is joining us at a pivotal moment.”
Lane brings nearly 25 years of leadership experience in the renewable energy, utility and
telecommunication industries. During that time, he helped develop and build projects totaling 6,000
Megawatts of renewable energy. The projects were located throughout the United States, Canada
and Mexico, and included solar photovoltaic (PV), wind, biomass and biogas facilities.
“It’s exciting to be part of Centauri Energy and the Beltran Solar project,” Lane said. “Beltran Solar is
one of those projects that has everything going for it. It’s one of the largest solar projects in California.

The environmental studies are complete, the permits are approved and it has a queue position with
CAISO, which allows us to connect to the grid in 2016. Each of these facets represents a major
challenge to complete, and it’s taken over five years to get here.”
Lane’s responsibilities include project development, managing real estate/zoning issues, working with
the construction team, overseeing technology issues and assisting with operations. He will work with
SCADA engineers, manage grid and congestion issues, and assist with strategic planning, contract
negotiations, program and operational management, project implementation and communication
systems.
Located in California’s Central Valley, Beltran Solar spans approximately 1,600 acres near Interstate
5, approximately an hour southeast of the Bay Area. The project will be built in three phases, with the
first phase scheduled to deliver power in 2016.
“With so much demand for renewable energy, Beltran Solar will prove itself a much-needed
contributor to the grid. Being part of a 300-Megawatt project represents a tremendous opportunity. I
look forward to being part of its success,” Lane says.
