The Spinal Injury Rehabilitation Centre (SIRC) was established in 2002 in Kathmandu, Nepal to provide rehabilitation services and support independence for people with spinal cord injuries. It was founded by journalist Kanak Mani Dixit after suffering a spinal injury. SIRC has since expanded to a 150-bed facility with multidisciplinary rehabilitation services. It has rehabilitated over 1,600 people and aims to establish additional rehabilitation units across Nepal through collaboration with other organizations.
