The water depth at a pier in Brooklyn followed a sinusoidal pattern on July 4th, with high tide of 2.7 meters at 9:36 am and low tide of 2.1 meters at 3:48 pm. The depth of the water can be modeled as a sinusoidal function of time with a period of half a lunar day, about 12 hours and 24 minutes.
