Single seniors are an increasingly large demographic that is actively dating, traveling, and pursuing hobbies. Approximately 17% of unmarried Americans over 18 are seniors, and this number is projected to grow to over 20% by 2040. While many seniors live alone, they enjoy active lifestyles including activities like golf, gardening, and yoga. Seniors also control a large portion of spending and wealth in the United States. To effectively market to this demographic, companies should portray seniors as independent and active rather than fragile, and consider platforms like online dating sites and social media that many seniors regularly use.
I will work in teams to do an in-depth investigation of a demographic that is typically overlooked and underserved in today's current marketplace. I will transform my research into a data visualization presentation. Data visualization is the presentation of data in graphical or pictoral format. It enables decision makers to see analytics visually so they can grasp difficult concepts and identify new patterns.
Fluid presented a seminar on how female-oriented marketing and messaging has changed over the decades and on how gender differences currently affect purchasing motivations and behavior, including insights into specific social media channels that most appeal to women.
