let us learn from the life of Peter

2. Simon Peter, also known as Cephas was one of
the first followers of Jesus Christ. He was an
outspoken and dedicated disciple, one of Jesus’
closest friend, an apostle. Peter was humble,
enthusiastic, determined, and, at times,
impulsive and reckless. But for all his strengths,
Peter had several blunders in his life. Still, the
Lord who chose him continued to loved him,
understand him, guide him and mold him into
exactly who He intended Peter to be.

3. Matthew 16:15 He said to them,
“But who do you say that I am?”
16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the
Christ, the Son of the living God.”
17 And Jesus said to him, “Blessed are you,
Simon Barjona, because flesh and blood
did not reveal this to you, but My Father
who is in heaven.
18 I also say to you that you are Peter, and
upon this rock I will build My church; and the
gates of Hades will not overpower it.

5. John 1:40 One of the two who heard John
speak, and followed Him, was Andrew,
Simon Peter's brother.
John 1:41 He first found his own brother
Simon, and said to him, "We have found the
Messiah" (which is translated, the Christ).
John 1:42 And he brought him to Jesus.
Now when Jesus looked at him, He said,
"You are Simon the son of Jonah. You shall
be called Cephas" (which is translated, A
Stone or Peter).
Simon first meet Jesus through the
help of his brother Andrew who was
a follower of John the Baptist.

6. HIS CALLING
Matthew 4:18 And Jesus, walking by the
Sea of Galilee, saw two brothers, Simon
called Peter, and Andrew his brother,
casting a net into the sea; for they were
fishermen. 19 Then He said to them,
“Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of
men.” 20 They immediately left
their nets and followed Him.
Luke 5:3 Then He got into one of the boats,
which was Simon's, and asked him to put
out a little from the land. And He sat down
and taught the multitudes from the boat.
5:4 When He had stopped speaking, He
said to Simon, "Launch out into the deep
and let down your nets for a catch."

7. HIS CALLING
Luke5:5 But Simon answered and said to
Him, "Master, we have toiled all night and
caught nothing; nevertheless at Your
word I will let down the net."
5:6 And when they had done this, they
caught a great number of fish, and their
net was breaking.
Luke 5:7 So they signaled to their
partners in the other boat to come and
help them. And they came and filled both
the boats, so that they began to sink.
THERE IS NO
FAVORITISM IN GOD

down at Jesus' knees, saying, "Depart
from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord!“
5:10 …And Jesus said to Simon, "Do not
be afraid. From now on you will catch
men.“

him.

Peter was grieved because He said to him

Matthew16:22 Then Peter took Him
aside and began to rebuke Him, saying,
"Far be it from You, Lord; this shall not

"Get behind Me, Satan! You are an
offense to Me, for you are not mindful of
the things of God, but the things of
men."

behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them;
and suddenly a voice came out of the
cloud, saying, "This is My beloved Son, in
whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!"

Luke 22:57 But he denied Him, saying,

not!"
60 Man, I do not know what you are
saying!" Immediately, while he was still
speaking, the rooster crowed.
61 And the Lord turned and looked at
Peter. And Peter remembered the word of
the Lord, how He had said to him, "Before
the rooster crows, you will deny Me three
times."
62 So Peter went out and wept bitterly.

drew it and struck the High Priest's slave,
cutting off his right ear. The name of the
slave was Malchus.
18:11 Jesus said to Peter, "Put your sword
back in its place! Do you think that I will

Father has given me?"

ONLY RESTORED,

24. ~Acts 2:41 Then those who gladly received his (Peter’s) word were
baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them.
~Acts 3:6 Then Peter said, "Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do
have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and
walk." 3:7 And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and
immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.
~Acts5:15 so that they brought the sick out into the streets and laid
them on beds and couches, that at least the shadow of Peter passing
by might fall on some of them. 5:16 …and they were all healed.
