Who Knows Fourteen?
  ?‫ארבעה עשר מי יודע‬
I know fourteen.
fourteen are the simanim
      of the Seder.
The Wha?!
The simanim ‫:סימנים‬
The easy-to-remember names
given to each step of the Seder.
You see, seder means order;
and the seder night is all about
     doing things in order.
And this is how it goes:
‫קדש‬


(1) KADDESH - reciting the kiddush
‫ורחץ‬


(2) U'RCHATZ - washing your hands (first time)
‫כרפס‬


(3) KARPAS - dipping the vegetable in salt water
‫יחץ‬


(4) YACHATZ - breaking the matzah in two
‫מגיד‬


(5) MAGGID - reading the haggadah
‫רחצה‬


(6) RACHTZA - washing your hands (second time)
‫מוציא מצה‬


(7) MOTZEE MATZAH - eating the matzah
‫מרור‬


(8) MAROR - eating the bitter herb
‫כורך‬


(9) KORECH - the matzah & bitter herb sandwich
‫שולחן עורך‬


(10) SHULCHAN ORECH - the meal
‫צפון‬


(11) TZAFOON - eating the afikoman
‫ברך‬


(12) BARECH - the grace after meal
‫הלל‬


(13) HALLEL - singing the praise
‫נרצה‬


(14) NIRTZAH - wrap-up sing-along
