Silverline started as a fine art transportation company owned by brothers Abner and Roger Silverio. In the early 2000s, they expanded into furniture sourcing and became a preferred supplier for hotels, designers, and celebrities. Abner discovered skilled craftsmen in China but found quality issues with their management practices. He started his own production facility in China to provide European quality at lower China prices. Silverline now sources furniture globally and supplies major hotel brands and celebrities.

2. About Silverline
Abner and Roger Silverio
The Silverio brothers, Roger and Abner were well known in the world of fine art transportation around the
1990’s. The more they transported these high end pieces, the more they found an interest in the pieces
themselves.
In early 2000, Silverline Furniture was born. They started to source some of these pieces for designers and
hotels. Roger managed the marketing and administration of the company while Abner was abroad overseeing
sourcing and quality control. Sourcing for these clients brought Abner to countries in Europe, Central America,
South America and the United States.
In 2003, Silverline expanded into the hospitality and commercial divisions. The first year saw business grow by
400%. Silverline sets itself apart from the competition with the quality standards their clients have come to
expect. To stay competitive in the world market, Abner began to look towards China. The industry told him for
the level of quality he needed, it wasn’t worthwhile to look in Asia.
Abner disregarded those comments and discovered that the Chinese had very skilled craftsmen. He quickly
learned that although the craftsmen were skilled, management practices and manufacturing for high volume
production resulted in sub standard quality.
Discovering the shortcomings, Abner started Silverline’s own production facility in China. Now Silverline’s
designers and clients are receiving European quality and China prices.
Silverline is a preferred supplier for many major hotel brands, singers, actors and sports figures.

On giving design advice to friends and family....
Furnishing a room is like hosting a good party. Gather different interesting characters and
let them mingle.
Don’t overdecorate a room and make it look too done. A space should never look
like a designer came in and did it all. It should look effortless...
42. Terry is currently working with a well established Chinese retailer on product design, merchandising,
store design and branding.
Understanding that the chinese market is 10+ years behind the well established North American market,Terry is
creating a strategic plan to help evolve the current product assortment which caters to the local chinese market
to appeal to a larger international audience.
