Sight
We use our eyes to see things.
There is a difference between the verbs:
Look (at), see and watch.
1. We ‘see’ something that comes into our sight, usually that we weren’t
looking for:
Did you see that guy? He was crazy
I didn’t see the car until it hit us
It is also the word for the general sense:
It is hard to see in the dark.
2. We ‘look at’ something for a reason, with a purpose:
Look at that girl, she’s amazing!
Look at my photos
3. We ‘watch’ something when we look at something carefully, usually
something moving (films, tv, football game, etc.)
That weird guy is watching us
Do you want to watch some tv?
We ‘watch’ a movie but when we go to the cinema we can use ‘see’:
Do you want to go to see a movie tonight?
