2. • Taking place in a dystopian society, who has complete
control over its citizens through the usage of heavy
censoring of information and denial, propaganda,
denial of individual liberty in thought, and enforcement
of conformity.
• A young girl named Dani is entrapped in this society
and suffering from its product of poverty and addiction
(her mother being dependant on a drug made by the
government 'Opia' to keep their people under their
thumb). She is constantly grappling with these
struggles, but powers though and does what she
needs for her and her mother to survive; for example,
by stealing (as shown in the pilot episode).
• Her protagonist counterpart, Subject 112131 (later in
the season named 'Alma'), a young person used for
experimentation in a government facility, escapes her
own entrapment one day, coming across Dani
• The journey of two entirely different (in backstory and
upbringing) individuals overthrowing their highly
controlling and intrinsically evil regime.
