4. CUTAWAY
A cutaway is used to show the audience a particular thing that may be
important later on in the film and possibly foreshadow future events.

This is an establishing shot and a
weather shot. Both are used to set the
mood for the scene. In this instance
the shot is quite dark and gloomy this
could set a sad mood.

`this gives the audience a uneasy
feeling as they can already
foreshadow danger ahead.

7. HAND HELD CAMERA /TILTED
The hand held and tilted makes the
atmosphere a lot more scary when you see the
monster behind her.
This tilted shot is used to portray
psychological uneasiness or tension.
This Hand held shot is used to stay with the
story and to keep it as real as possible to try
and scare the audience.

The point of view is from the
victim, this makes the killer
look stronger and makes the
audience feel sympathy for the
victim as this is the last thing
they see before they die.

influence what we think of this character.
In this shot we can see lots of dark
colours and low key lighting, this could
foreshadow that the character will get
involved with dark acts.

This shot allows us to see
what the characters sees. In
this shot we can see the
killers face in the reflection
and the face of the victim.

audience to see what
position the characters are
in and where they are in the
scene.
