The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque located in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates is the largest mosque in the UAE. Constructed between 1996 and 2007, the mosque complex covers over 12 hectares and can accommodate more than 40,000 people. More than 3,000 workers from 38 contracting companies helped construct the mosque using natural materials like marble, gold, crystals and ceramics. The courtyard's floral design marble mosaic covers 17,000 square meters, which is considered the largest in the world.
