INDUSTRIAL TRAINING
Did 3 months industrial training in CETEX Petrochemicals, Manali, Chennai from 1ST June
to 31ST August 2015. The areas covered during the training programme-
 Production – process details, process flow diagrams , piping and instrumentation
diagrams, energy and material balances, process calculations, plant start up and
shutdown procedure, control room and field operation.
 Mechanical engineering- specification ,types and working of pumps and
compressors, heat exchangers,
 Electrical engineering- working and specification of AC motors, generators,
transformers. Substations, power control centre, motor control centre, air circuit
breaker and vacuum circuit breaker, lightening arresters, flame proof fittings.
 Instrumentation engineering- working of control valves, transmitters, interlocks,
switches.
 Utilities- power plant, boiler and its specification, cooling tower, demineralised
water plant, hot oil supply system.
 Safety- fire fighting systems, job safety analysis, risk analysis, hazards, potential
accidents.

2. Participation in Inter College Competitions/Prizes Won
 Participated in a poster presentation on application of Petrochemicals in Adhiaman
College of Engineering, Hosur and won the second prize.
 Exhibited a working model of water purifier in A.C.College of Technology, Chennai
 Exhibited a working model of water purifier in AdhiParasakthi College of
Engineering and won the second Prize
 Participated in Inter College Technical Quiz competition in AdhiParasakthi College of
Engineering, Chennai and won the second prize.
