3. Early life
Rumi was born on 29 March 1951 in Dhaka
in a higher middle-class family,
His father name is Sharif Imam and mother is
Sahid jononi Jahanara Imam.
4. Rumi passed his matriculation in 1968.He got 3rd
stand in national education board.
By March 1971, he completed his H.S.C with star
mark . and got admitted in Engineering
College currently BUET.

such a situation in the country, I'll probably end up
going But then my conscience will keep me guilty
forever .

9. Melaghar Training Camp
• On 04 May, Rumi decided to join training camp at
Melaghar in Tripura under sector-2 commander Khaled
Mosaraf but first time he failed to cross the border
..then..
10. Formation and deployment of
Crack Platoon
In June 1971,KhaledMosharraf, a sector commander
of MuktiBahini along with A.T.M Haider, another
sector commander formed the Crack Platoon to
deploy a special commando team to carry out
commando operations in Dhaka.

• Rumi captured with his platoon members including

• Unfortunately, they never returned to their families.

17. Verdict for killing Rumi
On 18 July 2013, Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mojaheed was found guilty and
received life sentence on the charge related to the killing of Rumi along
with Badi, Jewel, Azad and Altaf Mahmud at the army camp set up in
Nakhalpara, Dhaka, during the Liberation War
