This document provides a summary of basic sewing equipment including a pin cushion to hold pins, pins to hold fabric together, tailor's chalk for marking fabric, a seam gauge ruler for measuring hems and details, a seam ripper for removing stitches, fabric shears for cutting only fabric, scissors for cutting patterns, a transparent ruler and measuring tape for accurate cuts and measurements, and thread for sewing.
