SETI@home is an internet-based volunteer computing project run by UC Berkeley that searches for signs of extraterrestrial intelligence. Volunteers can download a screen saver that analyzes radio telescope data, searching for signals like regular pulses, triplets of equally spaced spikes, or the famous "WOW" signal detected by Jerry Eman. The samples are processed to remove noise and account for Doppler shift before being analyzed for patterns that could indicate communication from an intelligent source. Two sample analyses are described, one showing pulses from a location in Pisces and another from Virgo exhibiting pulses, a Gaussian curve, and a triplet signal.
