"Real Time Bidding on advertising exchanges is growing rapidly as advertisers are looking for cost effective ways to acquire valuable customers.
Running bidding infrastructure cost effectively presents a challenging problem and can be addressed with the latest advancements in EC2 Spot market.
We will discuss examples on how the bidder fleet can be scaled economically and can also be connected to low latency caches like DynamoDB. Low latency caches typically contain user specific information (such as audience segments) which can be use to form a bidding decision. Low latency and low jitter networking is another important consideration building an RTB business.
We will review partner solutions for connecting to advertising exchanges outside of AWS."

Cloud Capacity Planning Tooling - South Bay SRE Meetup Aug-09-2016Coburn Watson
Sebastien de Larquier from our Data Analytics and Engineering team discusses the tools and associated methodology we apply to tackle our cloud capacity planning needs at Netflix.
Businesses are generating more data than ever before.
Doing real time data analytics requires IT infrastructure that often needs to be scaled up quickly and running an on-premise environment in this setting has its limitations.
Organisations often require a massive amount of IT resources to analyse their data and the upfront capital cost can deter them from embarking on these projects.
What’s needed is scalable, agile and secure cloud-based infrastructure at the lowest possible cost so they can spin up servers that support their data analysis projects exactly when they are required. This infrastructure must enable them to create proof-of-concepts quickly and cheaply – to fail fast and move on.
Amazon Kinesis is a fully managed service for real-time processing of streaming data at massive scale. Amazon Kinesis can collect and process hundreds of terabytes of data per hour from hundreds of thousands of sources, allowing you to easily write applications that process information in real-time, from sources such as web site click-streams, marketing and financial information, manufacturing instrumentation and social media, and operational logs and metering data.
This introductory webinar, presented by Adi Krishnan, Senior Product Manager for Amazon Kinesis, will provide you with an overview of the service, sample use cases, and some examples of customer experiences with the service so you can better understand its capabilities and see how it might be integrated into your own applications.

Cloud Computing: Making the right choiceIndicThreads
Session Presented @IndicThreads Cloud Computing Conference, Pune, India ( http://u10.indicthreads.com )
------------
The concept of cloud computing is quickly scaling the chasm between hype and reality. Cloud Computing is rapidly becoming popular amongst enterprises that realize the benefits of shared infrastructure, lowered costs and minimal management overheads. But not all organizations and applications may benefit from a cloud computing platform. A legacy application ported in a native fashion to a cloud computing platform may not utilize any of the platform’s USPs at all. More importantly, wrong choice of platform can be disastrous. Deciding the optimal cloud vendor or platform for your requirements is a complex task.
Consider the plethora of choices available in the world of cloud computing:
* Public Cloud or Private Cloud or Hybrid Cloud
* Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS): Amazon AWS, Rackspace Cloud, GoGrid, Terremark,
* Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS): Google AppEngine, Microsoft Azure, Heroku
* Software-as-a-Service (SaaS): Salesforce, Netsuite, Google Apps, saas.com
* Should you use IaaS, PaaS or SaaS for your application?
* Which cloud database fits your application? SimpleDB, SQL, RDS, Hadoop?
We will discuss the various business and technology factors to consider, while choosing a cloud vendor. We will explore the pros and cons of various cloud vendors and their offerings. Lastly, we will also discuss some real-life use-cases of applications and servers being migrated to cloud computing and what factors led to selection of a particular cloud vendor.
Takeaways from the session
This talk would serve as an introduction to a wide variety of cloud computing platforms. The audience would be able to answer questions like: “What options are available for cloud computing?”, “What are their pros and cons?”, “Should I consider migrating my application or server to the cloud?”, “Should I use IaaS, PaaS or SaaS?”, “Which is the best cloud vendor for my use-case?”

Real World Use Cases and Success Stories for In-Memory Data Grids (TIBCO Acti...Kai Wähner
A lot of data grid products are available. TIBCO ActiveSpaces, Oracle Coherence, Infinispan, IBM WebSphere eXtreme Scale, Hazelcast, Gigaspaces, GridGain, Pivotal Gemfire to name most of the important ones. Not SAP HANA!
The goal of my talk was not very technical. Instead, I discussed several different real world use cases and success stories for using in-memory data grids. Here is the abstract for my talk:
NoSQL is not just about different storage alternatives such as document store, key value store, graphs or column-based databases. The hardware is also getting much more important. Besides common disks and SSDs, enterprises begin to use in-memory storages more and more because a distributed in-memory data grid provides very fast data access and update. While its performance will vary depending on multiple factors, it is not uncommon to be 100 times faster than corresponding database implementations. For this reason and others described in this session, in-memory computing is a great solution for lifting the burden of big data, reducing reliance on costly transactional systems, and building highly scalable, fault-tolerant applications. The session begins with a short introduction to in-memory computing. Afterwards, different frameworks and product alternatives are discussed for implementing in-memory solutions. Finally, the main part of this session shows several different real world uses cases where in-memory computing delivers business value by supercharging the infrastructure.
AWS re:Invent 2016: Migrating Your Data Warehouse to Amazon Redshift (DAT202)Amazon Web Services
Amazon Redshift is a fast, simple, cost-effective data warehousing solution, and in this session, we look at the tools and techniques you can use to migrate your existing data warehouse to Amazon Redshift. We will then present a case study on Scholastic’s migration to Amazon Redshift. Scholastic, a large 100-year-old publishing company, was running their business with older, on-premise, data warehousing and analytics solutions, which could not keep up with business needs and were expensive. Scholastic also needed to include new capabilities like streaming data and real time analytics. Scholastic migrated to Amazon Redshift, and achieved agility and faster time to insight while dramatically reducing costs. In this session, Scholastic will discuss how they achieved this, including options considered, technical architecture implemented, results, and lessons learned.

Using real time big data analytics for competitive advantageAmazon Web Services
Many organisations find it challenging to successfully perform real-time data analytics using their own on premise IT infrastructure. Building a system that can adapt and scale rapidly to handle dramatic increases in transaction loads can potentially be quite a costly and time consuming exercise.
Most of the time, infrastructure is under-utilised and it’s near impossible for organisations to forecast the amount of computing power they will need in the future to serve their customers and suppliers.
To overcome these challenges, organisations can instead utilise the cloud to support their real-time data analytics activities. Scalable, agile and secure, cloud-based infrastructure enables organisations to quickly spin up infrastructure to support their data analytics projects exactly when it is needed. Importantly, they can ‘switch off’ infrastructure when it is not.
BluePi Consulting and Amazon Web Services (AWS) are giving you the opportunity to discover how organisations are using real time data analytics to gain new insights from their information to improve the customer experience and drive competitive advantage.

A Memorandum of Association (MOA) is a legal document that outlines the fundamental principles and objectives upon which a company operates. It serves as the company's charter or constitution and defines the scope of its activities. Here's a detailed note on the MOA:
Contents of Memorandum of Association:
Name Clause: This clause states the name of the company, which should end with words like "Limited" or "Ltd." for a public limited company and "Private Limited" or "Pvt. Ltd." for a private limited company.

Registered Office Clause: It specifies the location where the company's registered office is situated. This office is where all official communications and notices are sent.
Objective Clause: This clause delineates the main objectives for which the company is formed. It's important to define these objectives clearly, as the company cannot undertake activities beyond those mentioned in this clause.

Liability Clause: It outlines the extent of liability of the company's members. In the case of companies limited by shares, the liability of members is limited to the amount unpaid on their shares. For companies limited by guarantee, members' liability is limited to the amount they undertake to contribute if the company is wound up.

Capital Clause: This clause specifies the authorized capital of the company, i.e., the maximum amount of share capital the company is authorized to issue. It also mentions the division of this capital into shares and their respective nominal value.
Association Clause: It simply states that the subscribers wish to form a company and agree to become members of it, in accordance with the terms of the MOA.
Importance of Memorandum of Association:
Legal Requirement: The MOA is a legal requirement for the formation of a company. It must be filed with the Registrar of Companies during the incorporation process.
Constitutional Document: It serves as the company's constitutional document, defining its scope, powers, and limitations.
Protection of Members: It protects the interests of the company's members by clearly defining the objectives and limiting their liability.
External Communication: It provides clarity to external parties, such as investors, creditors, and regulatory authorities, regarding the company's objectives and powers.

Binding Authority: The company and its members are bound by the provisions of the MOA. Any action taken beyond its scope may be considered ultra vires (beyond the powers) of the company and therefore void.
Amendment of MOA:
While the MOA lays down the company's fundamental principles, it is not entirely immutable. It can be amended, but only under specific circumstances and in compliance with legal procedures. Amendments typically require shareholder
