The HIV Seroconversion Study has been conducted in Australia since 1992 to study individuals recently diagnosed with HIV. The current online version began in 2007 and can recruit nationally. It aims to understand factors leading to HIV infection and experiences post-diagnosis. Most participants are gay or bisexual men. The study finds many were unaware of PEP and faced barriers to using it. It also finds that while most men test regularly, some delay testing due to fear or a lack of symptoms. Since diagnosis, many participants report reducing risk behaviors like number of partners or drug use.
