Seppä Ilmarinen is one of the most popular figures in Kalevala. He is the smith (seppä)
who builds the Sampo which is a machine which has all the riches in the world. He also
builds a golden woman and tries to build the Sun and the Moon. Ilmarinen invented steal
and was first to light the fire.
Ilmarinen was the god of the Sky in Finnish mythology. That’s why Seppä Ilmarinen has
some god like features in him.

he is building the sun from silver.
