1. The Romanian Society at the University of Sheffield was founded in 2005 and aims to promote Romanian culture, help Romanian students integrate, and organize social and cultural events.
2. Membership is open to all students at the university who agree with the society's goals. The society is governed by a committee including a president, secretary, treasurer, and other optional roles.
3. General meetings are held to elect the committee, present financial reports, and discuss society business. Meetings must follow procedures outlined in the constitution, such as notice periods and voting processes.
INRIA-USFD-KCL- Identification of artery wall stiffness - 2014Cristina Staicu
This document summarizes a study that estimates artery wall stiffness using a data assimilation method applied to a 3D fluid-structure interaction (FSI) model. The study presents:
1) An FSI model coupling fluid (Navier-Stokes) and solid (elastodynamic) equations on a moving domain, with coupling conditions at the interface.
2) A reduced order unscented Kalman filter data assimilation procedure to estimate uncertain parameters like Young's modulus from displacement measurements.
3) Experimental validation using a silicone tube where estimated stiffness matched independent tests, and application to a clinical case of aorta stiffness estimation.
Make the most of EU resources for your region or city 2018Cristina Staicu
Cristina Staicu participated in an online course from February 2018 to October 2018 about how the EU supports regions and cities through its budget, structural funds, and other financing programs. The course covered topics such as the EU budget, structural funds, social and economic dimensions of EU funding, and debates around the future of Europe. The certificate confirms Cristina Staicu's participation in the course provided through the online education platform iversity.
The Development of Computational Fluid Dynamic Models for Studying the Detect...Cristina Staicu
This thesis presents research on developing computational fluid dynamic (CFD) models to non-invasively predict pressure drops in the aorta for patients with aortic coarctation. The research involved segmenting aortic geometries from medical images, generating 3D meshes, setting boundary conditions from flow and pressure data, and running CFD simulations. The models were validated against clinical data. A processing workflow was designed and implemented in five stages: image loading, segmentation, meshing, boundary conditions, and simulation. Efforts were made to model coarctation geometries and account for branches and collaterals. The results provide physically accurate details to supplement clinical images for diagnosing this disease.
This document provides an overview of the research aims, methodology, and key findings of a thesis related to computational modeling of aortic coarctation. It includes chapters on aortic segmentation from medical images, processing of time-resolved magnetic resonance volumetric flow data, generating meshes of the aorta, and processing invasive blood pressure signals. The goal of the research was to develop image-based models to simulate blood flow and pressure in the aorta to improve diagnosis and treatment planning for aortic coarctation.
The document appears to be notes from a garden journal tracking the progress of peach branches from March 5th through March 11th 2016. By March 11th, the flower buds on the peach branches had all opened.
This document is a log of observations of spring flowers from March 1 to March 11, 2016. Entries were made on March 1, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11 with the final entry on March 11 noting that the growth of the flowers continued.
A document describes a little fir tree from October 14, 2015 to March 11, 2016, noting dates it was observed. The tree's growth continued as of the last date listed.
The document lists events organized by The Hub Eindhoven for Expats from November 17-23, including Spanish and English conversation classes, martial arts training, ping pong, yoga, guitar lessons, karaoke, and fundraisers celebrating Spanish culture and supporting a school in Mali. All events can be found on their Meetup page.
