9. 24 Then Jesus said to his disciples,
“Whoever wants to be my disciple must
deny themselves and take up their cross
and follow me. 25 For whoever wants to
save their life[a] will lose it, but whoever
loses their life for me will find it. 26 What
good will it be for someone to gain the
whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or
what can anyone give in exchange for
their soul?
10. 27 For the Son of Man is going to come
in his Father’s glory with his angels, and
then he will reward each person
according to what they have done.
17. ➢ Use me to reach more—even if
I’m laughed at and ridiculed.
➢ Use me to serve (show love)—
even if it makes me uncomfortable.
18. ➢ Enable me give more (bless)—
even if I have make personal
sacrifices
➢ Empower me to do everything
for your glory—even if it pushes me.
19. Fear and being offended
paralyze us from sharing
God’s Word.
20. That Sunday evening the disciples were
meeting behind locked doors because
they were afraid of the Jewish leaders.
Suddenly, Jesus was standing there
among them! “Peace be with you,” he
said.
21. We should be selfless
instead of selfish, and bold
instead of timid.
22. For God has not given us a spirit of fear,
but of power and of love and of a sound
mind.
23. 8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said
to them, “Rulers and elders of our people, 9
are we being questioned today because
we’ve done a good deed for a crippled man?
Do you want to know how he was healed?
10 Let me clearly state to all of you and to
all the people of Israel that he was healed by
the powerful name of Jesus Christ the
Nazarene, the man you crucified but whom
God raised from the dead…
26. 12 There is salvation in no one else! God
has given no other name under heaven by
which we must be saved. 13 The members
of the council were amazed when they saw
the boldness of Peter and John, for they
could see that they were ordinary men with
no special training in the Scriptures. They
also recognized them as men who had been
with Jesus.
27. How amazed are people by your boldness for
Christ?
UNAMAZED AMAZED
30. [They were amazed by the disciples’
boldness] …for they could see that they
were ordinary men with no special training in
the Scriptures. They also recognized them
as men who had been with Jesus.
31. God loves to use people
who are willing and
courageous.
32. Let Jesus be your starting
point. Once you know Him,
you build your faith, then
you’ll feel the spiritual
urgency which will give you
confidence and boldness to
be used by Him. It all starts by
making time to be intimate
with God.
35. 29 And now, O Lord, hear their threats, and
give us, your servants, great boldness in
preaching your word.
36. When we pray for boldness
and spend time with God,
we become more self-less
and our focus changes
from living for today to
living for eternity.
37. Always remember, when
life is over, we will live
somewhere forever. Either
live in the presence of God
in heaven or in the horror of
eternal damnation in hell.
38. We should not preach
based on fear but we
should be truthful to what
the Word of God says about
hell.
39. Words are inadequate to
capture hell’s excruciation,
anguish, horror, outer
darkness, eternal lake of fire,
place of torment, sorrow,
everlasting destruction.
Indescribable suffering day
and night for all eternity.
44. Then I saw “a new heaven and a new
earth,”[a] for the first heaven and the first earth
had passed away, and there was no longer any
sea. 2 I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem,
coming down out of heaven from God,
prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her
husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the
throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is
now among the people, and he will dwell with
them. They will be his people, and God himself
will be with them and be their God.
45. 4 ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes.
There will be no more death’[b] or mourning
or crying or pain, for the old order of things
has passed away.”
5 He who was seated on the throne said, “I
am making everything new!” Then he said,
“Write this down, for these words are
trustworthy and true.”
46. Once we decide to obey God,
we will experience an
extraordinary life.
50. 19 Those whom I love I rebuke and
discipline. So be earnest and repent. 20
Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If
anyone hears my voice and opens the door,
I will come in and eat with that person, and
they with me.
21 To the one who is victorious, I will give
the right to sit with me on my throne, just as
I was victorious and sat down with my
Father on his throne.
