Google was founded in 1998 by Larry Page and Sergey Brin as a research project at Stanford University, it has since become one of the most popular search engines in the world known for its variety of search tools including web, image, video, maps and news searches as well as its browser Chrome; Yahoo was one of the earliest search engines, created in 1995 by Jerry Yang and David Filo who were engineering students at the time; Meta Search compiles results from multiple other search engines to provide users with a broader range of results.
