Superdance 2012 was a fundraiser started in 1975 at Bishop O'Connell High School to support cystic fibrosis research. It was begun by a student, Maura O'Donnell, whose sister had passed away from cystic fibrosis, and has since become a beloved tradition uniting the school community. The 2012 event had a Roman theme of "This is...SUPERDANCE!" and involved weeks of preparation by student committees, performances at the assembly and dance, guest speakers with cystic fibrosis, and fundraising through dance admissions and a bake sale. The multi-committee event was a success that thanked both the school community and local sponsors.
