Jack agrees to babysit two children, James and Emily, for the Johnson family. While watching TV in the living room, Jack receives two mysterious phone calls from a man telling him to "check the children". Jack calls the police for help. The operator traces the calls and informs Jack that the caller is inside the house. Jack rushes upstairs and finds the man about to kill the children with a knife. Jack subdues the man until the police arrive. The man is arrested but ominously tells Jack "See you soon" as he is taken away, a phrase that will haunt Jack for life.

Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

1.INTRODUCTION
JACK, a 18 year old teen is called by the JOHNSON'S family to
babysit their 3 year old children, JAMES and EMILY he agreed
and put the children to bed, then he goes to the living room
watching TV.
2.THE MAN CALLS
Jack was relaxing watching TV in the living room, all of the
sudden the phone rings Jack picks up the phone and said
JACK
Hello?
THE MAN
(laughs in an evil fashion)
Check the children.
The Man hangs up confused of what just happen, Jack ignores
it thinking it was his classmates pranking him and he went
back to the living room watching TV, 5 minutes later the
phone rings then Jack goes and picks up the phone and says
JACK
Hello?
THE MAN
(laughs in an evil fashion)
Check the children.
3.THE PANIC
At this point Jack starts to panic and calls the police, THE
OPERATOR answers the call and Jack says:
JACK
Help!there is a man who keeps calling
and he keeps saying to me "Check the
children".
THE OPERATOR
Ok, I will trace the call to see where
the call is coming from, just give me
few minutes.
4.THE TRUTH
Few minutes has past and Jack is still waiting for The
Operator to respond and to tell where the call is coming from
. Finally, The Operator calls and reveals the horrible truth

Sir, the caller is inside the house.
JACK
(Stood is shock, trying to say
something back to The Operator)
Wha...WHAT?!
Jack went upstairs to check the children, as soon he opened
the door he saw The Man, about to kill the children with a
knife but Jack was quick enough to stop The Man from harming
them, Jack put the Man down on the ground and call the
police.
The Man gets arrested by the police, James and Emily are
saved then Jack looks to The Man who is about to enter to the
car looks deadly at Jack and said
THE MAN
See you soon!!!!
This phrase will haunt Jack for the rest of his life.
