WHAT IS DROUGHT ?
Basically, drought is a natural disaster by which there is a
shortage of water. A drought can also be defined as drier
than normal conditions. There is an average quantity of
water in that particular area or village. A drought can last
long for days, months or maybe for years. When there is a
drought in a watery area, the water is evaporated and
cracks are formed on the surface of the land. Most of the
drought are formed due to Sun. We can’t blame the sun
but, when the rays of the sun are coming more than
required the water ponds or lakes are dried and thus,
drought is formed.
WHAT ARE THE EFFECTS OF DROUGHT ?
Most of the droughts take lives of plants, animals and human beings. This an
ecosystem which is linked to each other. Without plants there would be no
vegetation for humans or animals. If, plants could not get enough water to
germinate or to do other processes like transpiration and photosynthesis. The
humans and animals will have more loss than plants like they will not get proper
vegetation and their population will get less. The carnivore animals are depended
on other herbivore animals and if the herbivores could not get enough vegetation
their population will also get less thus, the carnivores will also not get enough
food for themselves because they are depended on herbivores so their population
will also be decreased.
WHAT ARE THE POSITIVE EFFECTS OF DROUGHT ?
The drought is very useful to humans because the supplying of water tanks
or bottles will get increased and increased and suppliers will get a lot of
profit out of that. The animals will also get the advantage because the
water wasted by human beings is more than it is used so the wasted water
is supplied to the lakes or ponds connected to the sewer because the water
is wasted and it goes down to the sewer all the way to the reservoirs and
the animals will be supplied to animals also.
HOW CAN HUMANS
REDUCE THE IMPACT OF
DROUGHT ?
Water conservation. It is the best way to reduce the
impact of drought for humans. Humans waste more
water than required. Which can increase the impact
of drought but, water conservation is a process by
which we can practice to use the water efficiently to
reduce unnecessary water usage.
