John Bisbee is a sculptor based in Brunswick, Maine. He received his BFA from Alfred University in 1990 and has had solo exhibitions at numerous galleries and museums since 1993. Bisbee has been artist in residence at Bowdoin College since 1996 and has also held residencies at other institutions. He has received fellowships from the MacDowell Colony and a grant from the Joan Mitchell Foundation. Bisbee's sculptures are included in the collections of several museums.
Nałęczów is a spa resort town with a beautiful park that hosts annual hot air balloon competitions. Lublin is famous for its castle, townhouses throughout the old town, and university festivals that give students control of the town for two weeks with concerts and musicians. Roztocze National Park and Kazimierz Dolny with its castle and gorges are popular tourist destinations, while Janowiec is located on the Vistula River near castle ruins. They became familiar with YNU and made Chinese friends with help from the helpful university staff. The students enjoyed calligraphy, music, and taiji lessons, though some struggled with synchronization. Through trips, the students fell in love with Chinese culture and visited sites like Snow Jade Cave, spending free time with teachers and making friends.

Mykhailo Petrovych Drahomanov was a prominent Ukrainian political theorist, historian, and public figure from Kyiv in the late 19th century. He was born into a noble Cossack family and studied at several schools in Ukraine before lecturing at Kyiv University from 1870 to 1875. However, due to increasing repression of the Ukrainian movement, he was forced into exile in Geneva in 1876, where he continued his political and scholarly work.
