This document provides guidance on discovering and using spiritual gifts to serve the church. It discusses that God has uniquely gifted each person and calls them to serve others as stewards of God's grace. Several spiritual gifts are mentioned that people can use such as deacons, prayer intercessors, Bible study leaders, and evangelism teams. Requirements for serving in these areas include being a committed Christian, attending trainings, and completing a discipleship program. The overall message is that each person should discover how God has shaped them and use their gifts to strengthen the body of Christ.
This is a SS lesson for 10/21/2012. Dying to self / living for God puts you into His Community (Body) that you share in, and that shares with you. You can more than "survive" -- really, thrive as a serving functioning, loving part of that body. His Church of redeemed believers is His joy, and He will be found in them: to God be all the glory! This lesson shares some other passages by Paul about God's multi-faceted grace that shows up for all the world to see in His Church.
Deuteronomy Chapters 4-5, Seek God; Cities Of Refuge; SDA doctrines; the Investigative Judgment; the Clear Word" Bible; “wresting" of Scriptures, Sabbath; Sabbath-keeper Sabbatarianism; sabbaths; festival, or new moons; The Wicked Bible and the Bug Bible
Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord......THE GRACE ON YOU LIFE CAN ONLY BE MULTIPLIED THROUGH KNOWLEDGE OF GOD AND HIS SON.....NOT BY ANY OTHER MEANS...STAY ON KNOW HIM...AS YOU BEHOLD HIM YOU ARE TRANSFORMED IN THE SAME IMAGE....2Pet1:2

Thanksgiving, An Attitude of Gratitude.David Turner
For the Christian, thanksgiving is not an option. We are commanded to give thanks. When we don't give thanks we forget out blessings and become bitter. In all things, Give Thanks!
Take up the helmet of salvation eph 6 17aDavid Turner
The head is the location of our thoughts and memories. We must protect our minds by putting on the helmet of salvation. The mind cannot be transformed without Christ becoming the center of our thoughts. The transformation saves us from the vane belief systems and ethical impure thoughts of the world. Put on Christ and put on the helmet of salvation. Free PowerPoint Download at http://bibleguy.org/sermon-resources/powerpoints/886/06/17/

Christ must have precedence over all other things.
St. Augustine wrote, “Christ is not valued at all unless He be valued above all.”
Christ is not Lord at all unless He is Lord of all. To some people Jesus is nothing.
To others, He is something.
Then there are those to whom Jesus is everything.
No words can define or describe God’s gift of His Son. It is a gift that defies description, that transcends superlatives, and exceeds our imaginative powers.

The Holy Spirit empowers us to be witnesses for Jesus. Therefore His power is most available when you witness for Jesus. The gifts of the Spirit are channels through which His power is made manifest. Every believer can learn to manifest the gifts of the Spirit.

Homily: The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity Sunday 2024.docxJames Knipper
Countless volumes have been written trying to explain the mystery of three persons in one true God, leaving us to resort to metaphors such as the three-leaf clover to try to comprehend the Divinity. Many of us grew up with the quintessential pyramidal Trinity structure of God at the top and Son and Spirit in opposite corners. But what if we looked at this ‘mystery’ from a different perspective? What if we shifted our language of God as a being towards the concept of God as love? What if we focused more on the relationship within the Trinity versus the persons of the Trinity? What if stopped looking at God as a noun…and instead considered God as a verb? Check it out…

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.
The Book of Joshua is the sixth book in the Hebrew Bible and the Old Testament, and is the first book of the Deuteronomistic history, the story of Israel from the conquest of Canaan to the Babylonian exile.
3. 1 PETER 4:10-11
10 Each of you should use whatever gift you
have received to serve others, as faithful
stewards of God’s grace in its various
forms. 11 If anyone speaks, they should do
so as one who speaks the very words of
God. If anyone serves, they should do so
with the strength God provides, so that in
all things God may be praised through
Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the
power for ever and ever. Amen.
9. GRACE vs. MERCY (Max Lucado)
“Not just mercies, mind you, but
grace. Grace goes beyond mercy.
Mercy gave Ruth some food. Grace
gave her a husband and a home.
Mercy gave the prodigal son a
second chance. Grace threw him a
party.
10. GRACE vs. MERCY (Max Lucado)
Mercy prompted the Samaritan to
bandage the wounds of the victim.
Grace prompted him to leave his
credit card as payment for the
victim’s care. Mercy gave the thief on
the cross. Grace escorted him into
paradise. Mercy pardons us. Grace
woos and weds us!”
11. 1 PETER 4:10 (NAS)
10 As each one has received a special
gift, employ it in serving one another
as good stewards of the manifold
grace of God.
12. 2 CORINTHIANS 9:8 (ESV)
8 And God is able to make all grace
abound to you, so that having all-
sufficiency in all things at all times,
you may abound in every good
work.
17. JEREMIAH 20:9
9 But if I say, “I will not mention his
word or speak anymore in his
name,” his word is in my heart like a
fire, a fire shut up in my bones. I am
weary of holding it in; indeed, I
cannot.
19. PSALMS 139:1-6
You have searched me, Lord, and
you know me. 2 You know when I sit
and when I rise; you perceive my
thoughts from afar.3 You discern my
going out and my lying down; you
are familiar with all my ways.
20. PSALMS 139:1-6
4 Before a word is on my tongue you,
Lord, know it completely. 5 You hem
me in behind and before,
and you lay your hand upon me.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful
for me,
too lofty for me to attain.
21. PSALMS 139:13-15
For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and
wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths
of the earth.
23. LUKE 7:36-39
36 When one of the Pharisees invited Jesus to
have dinner with him, he went to the
Pharisee’s house and reclined at the table. 37 A
woman in that town who lived a sinful life
learned that Jesus was eating at the
Pharisee’s house, so she came there with an
alabaster jar of perfume.
24. LUKE 7:36-39
38 As she stood behind him at his feet
weeping, she began to wet his feet with
her tears. Then she wiped them with her
hair, kissed them and poured perfume on
them. 39 When the Pharisee who had invited
him saw this, he said to himself, “If this man
were a prophet, he would know who is
touching him and what kind of woman she
is—that she is a sinner.”
26. 1 CORINTHIANS 12:12-31
12 Just as a body, though one, has many
parts, but all its many parts form one body,
so it is with Christ. 13 For we were all
baptized by one Spirit so as to form one
body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or
free—and we were all given the one Spirit
to drink. 14 Even so the body is not made up
of one part but of many.
27. 1 CORINTHIANS 12:12-31
15 Now if the foot should say, “Because I am
not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” it
would not for that reason stop being part
of the body. 16 And if the ear should say,
“Because I am not an eye, I do not belong
to the body,” it would not for that reason
stop being part of the body.
28. 1 CORINTHIANS 12:12-31
17 If the whole body were an eye, where
would the sense of hearing be? If the whole
body were an ear, where would the sense
of smell be? 18 But in fact God has placed
the parts in the body, every one of them,
just as he wanted them to be. 19 If they
were all one part, where would the body
be? 20 As it is, there are many parts, but one
body.
29. 1 CORINTHIANS 12:12-31
21 The eye cannot say to the hand, “I don’t
need you!” And the head cannot say to the
feet, “I don’t need you!” 22 On the contrary,
those parts of the body that seem to be
weaker are indispensable, 23 and the parts
that we think are less honorable we treat
with special honor. And the parts that are
unpresentable are treated with special
modesty,
30. 1 CORINTHIANS 12:12-31
24 while our presentable parts need no
special treatment. But God has put the body
together, giving greater honor to the parts
that lacked it, 25 so that there should be no
division in the body, but that its parts
should have equal concern for each other. 26
If one part suffers, every part suffers with
it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices
with it.
31. 1 CORINTHIANS 12:12-31
27 Now you are the body of Christ, and each
one of you is a part of it. 28 And God has
placed in the church first of all apostles,
second prophets, third teachers, then
miracles, then gifts of healing, of helping, of
guidance, and of different kinds of tongues.
32. 1 CORINTHIANS 12:12-31
29 Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all
teachers? Do all work miracles? 30 Do all
have gifts of healing? Do all speak in
tongues[d]? Do all interpret? 31 Now eagerly
desire the greater gifts.
