Farmers in India often lack information about crop diseases and treatments. An app is being developed to allow farmers to send photos of affected crops to experts via their phones, allowing the experts to more accurately diagnose issues and provide solutions compared to only descriptions over the phone. The app is ready for Windows phones, and the expert control panel is built on Windows Azure. Integration with other phone platforms and farmer identification through Aadhar cards are planned for the future.
