A company communicates with customers through various tools in its promotion mix, including advertising, sales promotion, personal selling, and publicity. The factors that guide a marketer's selection of promotion tools are the nature of the product market, overall marketing strategy, buyer readiness stage, and product life cycle stage. Advertising is a paid, non-personal form of promotion through media outlets. Personal selling involves one-on-one communication to make sales. Sales promotion relies on advertising, personal selling or publicity to provide temporary incentives. Publicity uses unpaid media coverage to build brand image. An effective promotion strategy creates a "hierarchy of effects" moving customers from attention, to interest, to desire, and finally to action.
Olper's Milk is a brand of processed milk owned by Engro Foods. It was launched in 2006 and has seen success, with over 1.4 billion in sales in its first year. Engro Foods has strengths in its established brand name, relationships with distributors and farmers, and research capabilities. However, it faces weaknesses such as high milk collection and distribution costs across Pakistan and a narrow product portfolio compared to competitors. Opportunities for growth include increasing government support for farmers and rising processed milk consumption. Threats include price competition and established brands like Nestle. Olper's uses an integrated marketing mix of advertising, promotions, distribution network, and targeting of health-conscious middle and upper-class consumers.

The document is a project report submitted to the chairman of the commerce department at the University of Karachi analyzing K&N's, a frozen food company in Pakistan. It includes an acknowledgements section, executive summary, introduction, background on the company, description of the research process conducted by K&N's, data collection and analysis sections, conclusions and recommendations. The research aimed to understand reasons for decreasing sales and identified that high prices compared to competitors was a key factor affecting demand. It was recommended that K&N's work on their pricing strategy.
The document discusses the U.S. current account deficit and perspectives from various economists on its sustainability. It provides details on how the current account is calculated and its components. The deficit is seen as having both positive and negative impacts in the short and long run. Economists estimate the dollar would need to depreciate significantly, between 10-35%, for the deficit to be eliminated or reduced. The document also examines the largest trade deficit partner countries and steps the U.S. could take to control the situation.
End-to-end pipeline agility - Berlin Buzzwords 2024Lars Albertsson
We describe how we achieve high change agility in data engineering by eliminating the fear of breaking downstream data pipelines through end-to-end pipeline testing, and by using schema metaprogramming to safely eliminate boilerplate involved in changes that affect whole pipelines.
A quick poll on agility in changing pipelines from end to end indicated a huge span in capabilities. For the question "How long time does it take for all downstream pipelines to be adapted to an upstream change," the median response was 6 months, but some respondents could do it in less than a day. When quantitative data engineering differences between the best and worst are measured, the span is often 100x-1000x, sometimes even more.
A long time ago, we suffered at Spotify from fear of changing pipelines due to not knowing what the impact might be downstream. We made plans for a technical solution to test pipelines end-to-end to mitigate that fear, but the effort failed for cultural reasons. We eventually solved this challenge, but in a different context. In this presentation we will describe how we test full pipelines effectively by manipulating workflow orchestration, which enables us to make changes in pipelines without fear of breaking downstream.
Making schema changes that affect many jobs also involves a lot of toil and boilerplate. Using schema-on-read mitigates some of it, but has drawbacks since it makes it more difficult to detect errors early. We will describe how we have rejected this tradeoff by applying schema metaprogramming, eliminating boilerplate but keeping the protection of static typing, thereby further improving agility to quickly modify data pipelines without fear.

Saudi Arabia’s construction Industry
Saudi Arabia’s construction industry has been forecast to be one of the Kingdom’s best performing sectors in upcoming years, with an increasing flow of state contracts coming its way. However, bottlenecks in the materials supply chain and high demand for labor and resources could push up prices.
The construction sector in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region would be underpinned by massive investments from Riyadh. While many other countries in the region are scaling back their construction spending, Saudi Arabia – along with Qatar – are in the process of stepping up outlays for building work.
The construction industry is already one of the Saudi Arabia’s high-performance sectors, having expanded by 11.6% in 2011 – second only to manufacturing and well up on the overall 6.8% increase in GDP – according to a report issued by Riyadh-based Jadwa Investment at the end of December.
Scope of construction in KSA
Saudi Arabia has in the last thirty years experienced a huge volume of work in the field of construction. This is because the wealth created by the oil industry and the economic impetus it has given the country. This has resulted in very rapid growth and transformations during that period. The high living standards of the people of Saudi Arabia have generated many manufacturing and building employment opportunities. The growth of towns has accelerated as a result of high population growth. Large and complex projects have been built, attracting contractors and construction companies from all over the world.
