Many ethnic minorities, such as the Hmong and the Dao, live in and around Sapa. Many older women
in particular make items such as ethnic-style clothes and blankets, to sell to tourists. Striking up a
conversation with them can be very rewarding. Our 3 day trip to local village with homestay will give
you great chance to do all and learn about the their cultures, customs.
Itinerary:
Day 1: Lao Cai - Sapa – Y Linh Ho – Lao Chai – Ta Van (B/L/D)
You are welcome at the station for transfer to Sapa. Breakfast upon arrival at local restaurant. We will
then start from your hotel for 6km of walking down to the south east of Sapa along the side of Muong
Hoa valley to Y Linh Ho village of the Black H’mong. A 2km-trekking down to Lao Chai village, through
terraced rice fields to Ta Van village of the Dzay minority people. If lucky enough, you will have
chance to see endless ripening paddy fields on continuous terraces. Lunch at a local family, it gives
you a worth chance for you to learn about the local house architecture which is full of their daily life
styles and exclusive custom. Enjoy the landscapes on the way. We keep on hiking around the village
of the Dzay and H'mong where we stay overnight with a local family - great chance to know about
their daily life of the the local people.

Day 2: Ta Van – Giang Ta Chai – Su Pan – Ban Ho (B/L/D)
After pancake made by your host family, we continue to discover Giang Ta Chai village, then Su Pan
villages of the red Dzao minority. After picnic lunch, we keep on hiking to Ban Ho, the village lies

2. within a beautiful valley, home to the Tay minority people who have their traditional house on stilts
and we will spend the night here.

Day 3: Ban Ho – Nam Toong - Sapa (B/L)
2km walking to a very nice waterfall discovered and named “the Lavie” by the French during the
colonial time in Vietnam. Enjoy swimming then go up to the mountain to visit a small hamlet of the
Red Dzao people called Nam Toong, then get back to Ban Ho for lunch then go up to the main road to
take a jeep to Sa Pa.
